Miami week

This is going to be a tough game. If Jimmy G thought he faced a good pass rush on Sunday night just wait until he sees what the Dolphins front line throws at him. The Fins will put big pressure on him all game long without blitzing.
If the guys on their DL feel like playing. That group has more mutts than a kennel. After 15 hours flying (12 round trip to Seattle and 3 to get here) in 7 days, they'll be beat, as well. Get ahead of them and they'll quit.

There is a chance they will be missing half their starting DL. Earl Mitchell just got put on IR and Mario Williams is in concussion protocol.

I had to laugh.

Week Long Kick the **** out of the Patriots thread......

And Suh is in a lifetime concussion protocol...

Fun reading how deeply butthurt the Phins fans are going onto 2 decades of total domination by the Cheatriots, I mean Patriots. Yeah, it's evil BB doing bad stuff we can't detect, not that their own coaches, GMs and players suck.

Remember Wanny Wannstedt?

He brought an axe into the locker room and the punter or kicker tripped and cut his foot? Couldnt play for a while. Then Wanny nailed a lobster trap to the locker room ceiling during NE week. Half the Miami players didnt know what it was.

It was Jack del Rio at the Jags and the punter was Chris Hanson (who later played for NE):

(Yes, I am a sad person for remembering this.)

Not sure why but the Pats have a tough time against this team. Hopefully they are more tired from playing Seattle than the Pats are from playing AZ.
They only have tough time in miami.

Play football in South Florida during the summer and you'll see why the Pats have trouble with them in Miami.

I'm glad the league finally pulled their heads out of their butts in regards to scheduling these two teams. Prior to last year, there was a long string of the first game being in Miami (big advantage to the Dolphins), and the second game being late in the year in NE (big advantage to the Patriots). By switching those games around, you don't get the big advantages anymore, making the games more skill based rather than which team is better accustomed to the environment.

Some thoughts

#1 Jonathan Jones will block a FG/Punt - He almost got 2 yesterday including the last one. He comes off that edge in a hurry and his speed was also showcased pinning the returner deep inside his own territory that one play and just out ran everyone. This kick plays with a rocket on his back and will tip or just plain block a punt/FG if he keeps this up. I think he will have a lot more chances as the Dolphins will punt more than AZ did cause their O will sputter more.

#2 The Pats will get 3 defensive turnovers - The Pats have been ball hawks all preseason and almost got 2 last week. It is time for water to seek its level and Tannehill is a lesser QB than Ryan and I expect the D to be able to make some things happen this game with turnovers and make up for the lack of one last week with 3 this week.

#3 Collins/Hightower make a big impact. They kind of fadded into the backround last game though they played solid. This week it will be more focused on the front 7 as most of the Dolphins offense runs through Foster/Miller and short passes (except for Stills who they will send deep). Unlike AZ who is not afraid to air it out a bit to their WRs this game (unless McCourty lets guys get behind him which is unlikely) will be decided within 10 yards of the LOS.

#4 Hogan/Edelman will catch a lot of passes. This will always be the case but this game particularly. The Dolphins let Seattle kill them outside the box on short 5-10 yards passes and also a lot of under cuts. They seem to really like that zone and seem to be unable to do adjust as they did not do it all game and that pass was open a lot of my quick watch of their game. And it needs to be cause of #5.

#5 Dolphins DL will eat our OL's lunch. This is a huge mismatch and the Pats have no answer. Even if they leave Bennett in every play to block they will be able to exploit Cannon and our interior most likely. Thuney has never played anyone like Suh. If he holds his ground well 1v1 maybe this is salvageable but i would not count on it. Right now I expect 1 read and out and starting it shot gun. We will need to ass Jimmy to pass 40 times and tire out their pass rush with short passes. The Pats will not be able to run on this front I think even with their so-so LBs. If they run too much they will just set themselves up in 2nd and 3rd and long. Not what you want to do vs this team.

#6 This is a game for the Pats D to just go in and impose their will on a substandard offense all around. Miami has a few players that do things well but if the D keys on them they should be able to shut them down in generally and as long as no big plays happen i don't see Miami sustaining many long drives... maybe 1 or 2.

And lastly.

If the Pats lose this game they are 1-1 and that AZ win means a lot less as you were able to get a hard fought win maybe you should not have and if you lose this game you may as well have lost that one and won this one.

High is hurt. Absent from practice today.
