Miami week

The Gronkowski absence is bothersome to me. If his hamstring is not healing, I agree with you. But if he can go, he should be active, even if only in a limited role.

The Patriots play four good defensive fronts in a row with JG at QB. Gronk's presence changes a lot for blitzing schemes against a depleted offensive line. Gronkowski adds an edge blocker to help the tackles, and he keeps an LB and a safety honest in coverage.

These games are critical, especially the Miami and Buffalo division games. If the Pats can win those two, they jump out on the division. Gronkowski is the difference between a decent offense and a dominating one. If he can help beat a division foe, he should give it a go.

I'm rooting for the Bills to beat the Jets tonight to give the Greenbeans a second loss. The Jets have a better overall situation than the Bills, a team with good talent that is wrapped in chaos with the Ryan brothers stomping around on the sideline.

I want the Bills to win as well because the Jets are more dangerous, but I can't see them winning this one with Taylor as their QB.

Our Spread Formation minus Gronk is still very effective would be almost unstoppable with him. That said with Edelman - Hogan - DA: Bennett @ TE and White @ RB. Even Denver's Defense @ full strength would have some problems with that. Love Gronk to death he's a match-up nightmare but if you ask me which of the two I would rather have I say and I may be in the minority here...Edelman everytime.

The Pats will win because:

  • The Offense will make plays that help the team win;
  • The Defense will make plays that help the team win;
  • Special Teams will make plays that help the team win; and
  • The coaching staff will call plays that put players in position to help the team win.
After that Belichick will confirm for us that the team made enough plays in all three phases to win the game.

Going to be a tough game. Miami's D-line and revamped secondary looks stacked. Thank goodness this is a home game. The extra 1/2 second will be big for the Pat's out-matched O-line.

I agree. If this weeks game was being played in Miami, I would have had it down as a loss.

Jimmy showed the ability to set his feet and keep his eyes downfield against the Cards when they got pressure on him. He'll need that ability because Miami's defensive front is just as good if not better. I said this before, but I really wouldn't mind them intentionally taking out Suh. The guy deserves nothing less and it would make the game easier to win. And I'm not usually someone to wish for injuries. As far as our offense goes, the Miami secondary is good but the Pats have the WR's to take advantage of that. Edelman, Dola, and Hogan are exactly the quick and twitchy WR's to beat the press and get open quickly that are needed to move the chains there.

In all, we should get a pretty good look at just where Garoppolo is in his maturity as a quarterback. The Fish will probably scheme to shut down the run and the McDaniels may end up putting the ball in his hands more as a result. Hopefully he's up to the task.

I am honesty curious about how well Jimmy will do now that there is actual tape of him out there. The Cardinals coaching staff really didnt know what to expect and it showed.

Now, I am not sure it will be a factor against Miami this Sunday except for what you suggested and Miami daring him to beat them by shutting down the run. Also, we might have lucked out in terms of timing for available tape not to be a huge factor against the Texans on Thursday due to the quick turnover time but unfortunately Rex will have 3 games worth of tape to prepare.

Life gets harder as a QB the more tape there is of you..

No, the only requirement is that we hate all things associated with the Jets.

For the Bills and Dolphins, the requirement is that we hope that they both continue to field futile, losing teams that allow the Pats to lock up the Division by Thanksgiving. Hatred is optional. The Bills fans are kind of cute and adorable (remember how they were chanting "We want Brady" after Week One last year and then they got him the next week and he tore their hearts out?). The modern Dolphins can't get out of their own way, wear teal green uniforms and have been to the Playoffs once in the last 14 years.

I kind of like them all.
Such liabilities at 2 - 4

Miami is a dirty team. It helps that dan campbell is no longer there.

Apparently Cameron Wake is on a snap count and even if Mario Williams doesn't play that won't change.

When did Miami's secondary get so good, isn't Byron Maxwell their #1 corner, I know R.Jones is a good safety but besides them two I have no idea who else is in the secondary, and Maxwell last I remember isn't all that.

Earl Mitchell is out, Mario Williams hasn't practiced this week due to a concussion, besides Suh who else is on the line?

Gase has had a few really nice press conferences talking about the Patriots' approach to personnel and game planning. He seems like a steady, intelligent coach. Too bad he's in Miami, so I'm required to hate him.
This is how I feel about Todd Bowles. He keeps his mouth shut, doesn't make excuses, and acts humble. We obviously know how talented of a coach he is, particularly on defense.

Unfortunately, these comments are difficult to type since he's a Jet.

Agreed. Still, a lot falls on the owners as well. Kraft for all his faults lately in no way seems to influence BB on personnel decisions. Can't say the same for Woody or Ross in Miami. So the coaches maybe good, but the owners may just do enough to upset the apple cart as it were.

Pouncey's out for the game
