Ok, this fundamentally alters things, if Meri is not playing. That's a BIG hit to our brilliant safety group.

Now of course we don't know that he won't play, but as Chris Price said when I mentioned it to him "No Thursday practice is usually a big sign."

No sir, I don't like it. Not a bit. Here's hoping it's mind-games or rest. I just can't see not practicing for a game against the Colts unless you're REALLY not able to go. Even Chris Baker is out there in a non-contact jersey.

Definitely more concerned than yesterday although with him playing every snap last week it seems very likely that if he has a real foot issue that he can play through it.

I'm really concerned about Meriweather. Huge loss if we don't have him for this game!

I am worried, and I do think its a huge deal whether or not he plays, and will have a major impact on the game.

The good news is we have great depth at safety in McGowan, Chung & Sanders. The bad news is none of those guys have the range Meriweather has. It would limit the game plan, no doubt. Meriweather roaming back there in centerfield covering a lot of ground would allow us to defend the underneath stuff and intermediate stuff much more aggressively.

Not good. Not good at all. I think we'll still win but it's a big blow if he's out.

What's the word with him anyway? I thought Id read that he played every snap the other day. Now, all of a sudden the guy's MIA? Anyone know anything?

Elsewhere, safety Brandon Meriweather (foot) was among a group of nine injured players who were not present during the media-access portion of practice. Meriweather, who played every snap in Sunday's win over the Dolphins, did not practice Wednesday either.
Hmm but this is a Thursday hope hes ok...

pam is getting UPSET!

Hopefully it's just a little tweak and he will be fine come Sunday. Really want to see what he'll bring this game!

Getting steadily more worried now. If he's out, I'm not liking our chances to win this game.

I'm seeing that nine players were absent today. That's more than we can actually deactivate for the game.

I'm rooting for some trickery.

New England Patriots: Entire Team Questionable

Knowing what an integral role Meriweather will play on Sunday, yes I am concerned. Knowing that many football players don't practice all week but play in the games makes me less concerned.

I'm hoping this is another Sith trick to sow confusion and uncertainty. To paraphrase Yoda, if Meriweather were to actually miss the game, a major blow that would be.

Right now I'm worried but hopefully he'll be ready to play. If not I expect Chung to sack Peyton 3 times and return a fumble back for a TD

James Sanders needs to earn his new contract extension and better be SOLID if Brandon is out.

I hope BB channels a little Yoda with Merriweather come Sunday: "No! Do or do not. There is no try!"

If Reiss isn't worried, neither am I: Mike Reiss (MikeReiss) on Twitter
Saw Meriweather in locker room Monday. Looked OK to me.

As Bruschi points out today in his analysis, it will come down to making the play or not. So, it's best Meriweather is as physically close to 100% as possible. No new concepts this week: Tedy Bruschi's Breakdown: Matchups to watch in Patriots-Colts game - ESPN Boston

"Both of these teams are well coached and they know what to do. So it's going to come down to this question: Did you make the play or not?," Bruschi says. "That's what will win this game. There are no fancy concepts or anything like that. With Peyton Manning and Tom Brady, they are just too good. Did you block them? Did you tackle them? Did you cover them? Did you catch the ball? It's simple. That's what this game will come down to."

I like your prediction...

If Meri can't go, I would expect Sanders to get the start over Chung.
