Media speculation: Mankins to PUP?

That is totally conjecture. Reiss said Mankins looked good at OTAs, even though he didn't participate.

Reiss also said Mankins wasn't even wearing a knee brace while jogging/sprints and doing resistance training. I can't imagine the pats would let him do that unless he was far enough along that the knee itself is fairly stable.

I'm gonna side with Reiss and say Mankins will be good to start week 1.

I'm also getting really tired of Walker on the ESPN AFC East blog, who honestly thinks Mallet will beat out Hoyer for the #2 position by the end of training camp.

So what I get from this thread is that Mankins will start the season on the PUP. That is, of course, unless he doesn't start the season on PUP.

This time two years ago, we heard that Welker would start the season on PUP. The year before it was Brady. The media doesn't know crap about Patriots players injuries and the Patriots are certainly not going to tell them.

All we can really do at this point is hope that the positive reports and speculation are right and the negative ones are wrong.

I never read any of Walker's entries, though there are links to them on Reiss' Pats blog.
He's just another hack from the 4-letter network.
