That is what she said, Mayo did not say it. You can’t blame him for what his wife says. This is an easy one for Mayo to escape. I am not worr for him one bit.

There's nothing for her to defend - because no "lies" are being told about Mayo.
The only negative public story was that he played cards instead of watching film on the way back from AZ.
But that's not the reason he was fired! It may lend a clue to his constantly ill-prepared team...
but even if they have a "side" to defend that point, it doesn't change the visible, provable facts:
He had a very ill-prepared team most of the season
He did not know how to sustain a very good D from last year
He did not know how to manage in-game adjustments, or the finer nuances of coaching situations
He did not know how to coach the position coaches
He openly admitted that he didn't know a lot about managing a team, and was counting on a long leash to learn on the job
There's no mystery or scandal here.

It occurs to me I've disliked some organizations and individuals, some rather intensely, in my life. For example, I can't abide a welcher or family abuser and I still despise the Montreal Canadiens with the intensity of a thousand burning suns. That said, I've never disliked anyone or anything enough to turn my wife loose on them (shudders at thought).

That's just a bridge too far for me

That’s a hatred that runs deep in my veins as well. Loathing the Canadians in the 70s shaped my Irish drinking patterns I’m most sure of !!

We all know that Robert Kraft screwed Mayo. If it can be proved in a court of law, then good for Mayo and the Patriots fans. It could be a civil case and the NFL hates them. I sincerely hope there is a case to burn Robert Kraft and Jonathan.

Bro... Your boy Thunder made an entire TV series portraying the coach who won him 6 super bowls as a super villain...

Maybe you shoulda seen this coming?
Mayo likely thought that he would get more than 12 months at the job.

Id like to hear the Mayos side of the story and what Booster Seat Bob told them.

What would he sue for? He’s already getting the full amount of his contract. He could sue for defamation, but he’d have to prove he didn’t do anything Kraft claimed of him and Kraft wisely hasn’t claimed anything specific and has taken full accountability publicly. Plus the lawsuit would blackball him from any future coaching job.

It doesn't seem to bother anyone that Mayo got screwed.

He should have never been given the job, but if you're going to go there then go all in and not half axx like Kraft did.

After he gave an interview with Curran during that same bye week that was all about "I'll be better in year 2" and "I never thought I could build a culture in year 1". Sounded like he was just writing off the rest of the year - and he did.

From the fan perspective, that interview was incredibly frustrating. Mayo just seemed so smug and casual about it all, no sense of urgency in anything he said. And that B.S. about not being able to build culture in one year -- ugh. I'm so glad we're rid of this guy.

For an intelligent man, Mayo is not very smart. By sucking up to RKK and helping move BB out the door sooner than planned, he sent a message to the players that individual goals are more important than team wins. His mindless statements about player empowerment only made things worse. Personally I don't think waiting a couple of years to learn would have helped, Mayo doesn't seem to understand the effort necessary to compete as an NFL coach. It was the right thing for the organization to admit the mistake and move on.

Not to mention if you took a drink every time he said “at the same time”, you’d be dead in 10 minutes.

Tootsie’s…on the Dade and Broward border I guess

Ah ha. Been there way back in the 90s early 2k if I remember right. Can’t remember the quality for some reason lol. Damn old age…

Well Mayo's relationship with his wife is the same as his relationship with his players - that is to say, he's not the one in control

He’s letting her speak her mind c’mon! Collaboration! They’ll get over it since he’s getting a cool 10mil for doing MORE of nothing…

Exactly HOW did Kraft screw Mayo? Did he put a gun to his head and make him sign the contract? Did he renege on guaranteed contract provisions post-dismissal? Why do you want Mayo to "burn" the Krafts in court and how would that be good for Patriots fans?

I feel we're going to hear from Mayo's camp he was promised a 2nd season.

Wouldn't shock me if true, as media has gone back in forth on whether he was going to return which Bob admitted during his press conference. He changed his mind based on the week.

I'm sure he has his side of the Story
One day he will have a chance to tell it
If Mayo ever wants to coach in the NFL again he better keep his wife away from the keyboard
Dude’s gonna be working at a Tennessee car dealership for the next 20 years if he’s not careful.
