Mayo negotiations + OC interviews next week

This announcement is 100% proof that ownership IS not only involved but pushing the direction of this staffing fix.
BB would never announce something like this, or go about it this way - some public want-ad job posting like "looking for coaches, any coaches..."
But, I'm actually thrilled to see it. It's been too comfortable for BB for too long. His little cabal of yes-men hasn't worked lately.

Yea, that media leak about "significant changes" followed by no firings and under the radar interviews was weak AF. I thought it was a bunch of BS. Glad to see this press release.
They don't need to fire anyone, but I expect some to be demoted.

And Kraft obviously wasn’t happy that Belichick threw him under the bus by claiming the team doesn’t spend money in free agency even if it was unintentional. Hence why Belichick had to call Mark Daniels and issue a clarification of his statement.
What? Link.

I don’t think Bill is capable of thinking about heirs apparent. He coaches one game at a time and never to look too far ahead. I think the negotiations are to be DC and there are no promises of taking over the team when Bill leaves. I think this is all about making it impossible for other teams looking for a DC to hire him.
It’s just what he says. He is smarter than you think…it’s how he got you to think that

Just an irrational argument you make. I have had a lot of problems with the team, but the defense, based on talent, isn’t one of them. You want to say mayo has actually run it and that’s why it’s been good, fine. But Steve has been a lone bright spot as far as I see it. You’re a hater and are blinded by the fact it’s bills kid. Irrational
He's just joking around man.

People thought the same about McDaniels when he balked at the Indy job to stay on hand...I think this move is to keep Mayo from leaving for anything other than a HC job, nothing more.

Train wreck of an ownership

huh? Kraft's are a train wreck of an ownership because they might have the guy they want to replace Belichick as HC on staff and want to keep him?

Bill won’t pick the next Patriots head coach. The Krafts will. I don’t think Robert and Jonathan will necessarily promote from within post Bill. In fact, I doubt they will especially if Jonathan is calling the shots at that time. I think they will pick the best coaching candidate that money can buy. Their brand is too important to them to just promote from within due to loyalty.

Now Mayo or another Patriots coach could be that coach, but based on the success rate of coaches from the Belichick tree, I tend to doubt it.

As an aside, all women now count as minorities for the purpose of this rule (given how few there are in the league).
There's women GMs I believe.

I have to agree. It's about time Mr. Kraft had the balls to take charge. He's been great at not being too involved, but he had to do something after his statements last March. I'm actually surprised.

You clearly missed the fact that it’s a bit of an inside joke between myself and @venecol. He likes to post that pic in the Brady forum. There’s still time to delete this.
Ok if that’s the case, fine. But still a valid point. The Steve hate here is ridiculous.

But none of them coached the Pats.
