Mayo Made The Right Call, The Only Call - Brissett over Maye

Since Maye is not starting:

a) Don’t care if Okorafor is a bit better right now, Wallace needs to be RT right now. Onwenu stays at RG. Get Wallace reps now.

b) Polk, Douglas, Thornton, Baker play a ton. Find your 2025 #2/#3 now. Trade Bourne and Osborn for whatever you can get at deadline

c) Get a top 3-4 pick and take the best LT in the draft

d) I know he has some non fans, but throw a number at Higgins (or any other top option) he can’t turn down.

Agreed. Even though I'm a fan of seeing him play.. I'm coming to the realization that when mayo become HC that this was the plan.

I'm praying for watchable offense week 1....
"praying for a watchable offense"

Its quite obvious Mayo wants a veteran QB out there while they work thru the team issues. Brissett gives him that. It will not be flashy. It may not even be competent given what we've seen in the preseason.

This team needs time to work thru their issues. Let Brissett get blown up while that happens. Given that he's already dealing with an injury to his shoulder, it may not be long before Maye is forced into the starter role.

I hope that does not hinder his development if/when it happens.

So when guys are running open and the ball is not coming there way we'll see. Just like a QB can make a WR a WR can also make a QB they go hand in hand.

And I still won't care.

I am not worried about their development at this point. You are worrying about step 5 in a 10 point plan.

I am more concerned with getting the Line right. Once that happens, then we will worry about the other stuff.

It may have been the plan all along, but if it wasn't it is still very much the right decision. How any one could think Maye would start from day one is delusional.

I do not give one iota about Polk, Baker, Thornton, Douglas, Bourne, HH, Bell etc.

Right now, and every day forward, its about the development of Drake Maye. The rest? strawmans and white noise.

I know Brissett is a bad quarterback. I have said so since we signed him.

He is the sacrificial lamb. Let him be sacrificed on the altars of the Football gods when we get **** sorted out.
There's a thread going on the Topic IF the plan was to sit Maye from Day 1 we should have just kept Zappe why?? JB will run himself into a sack and get hurt he has no pocket presence whatever. What will we do then??

Then you play Maye. You have no other choice.

Thats why I have said for a while now we should have kept Zappe.

Options > Lack of Options

Zap wanted a ring so he chose KC practice squad.

Tell Brissett to get his *** back out there…will look something similar to Scott Sterling…google Scott Sterling soccer goalie if you don’t know what I’m talking about.

Pape I still believe polk development is important. He like maye daye are both rookies. You want to see him develop into a nice WR for Drake.

I didn't say he's the Franchise,

I said he's the future of the franchise.

Keep up, or shut the **** up.
I did. He better be.

Nonetheless being “the franchise” or “the future of the franchise” is really the same thing and doesnt change the point.
I am sorry I made you get so emotionally flustered.

Zappe is better than being a practice squad arm.

He has a future in the NFL as a career back up. He probably would have been picked up as a back up if we didn't hold on to him until cut down day.

It may not be long before maye is forced into action.. is exactly what I been saying...

again, step 5 in a ten point plan. we are currently sitting on step 1.

I know. Just eluding to what he felt his options were. He likely felt it's better to go to KC in any capacity than stay here in a rebuild.

Uh, because he's not ready, this team currently sucks, and history is littered with promising QBs whose careers were ruined by playing them under those conditions?
Of course he is ready. Please give me the list that history is littered with of QBs who were great but ruined because they played football.

flustered? what part of that says I was flustered? Not one word.

To put it bluntly - You are an *******. I don't like you. You offer nothing of value.

So **** off Andy.

This won't last long. Brissett is basically the guy we saw in preseason. He may move the ball every now and then, but then will do something to stall the drive.

By week 3 the noise will get loud to bench him for Maye.

Tim Couch. Drafted first overall. Too bad he was stuck with an OL literally of 3rd and 4th stringers from the expansion draft and his Browns did nothing for years to improve it.

even better argument - Andrew Luck.

He actually quit football because of it. Just up and said "nah, don't need this ****", walked away.
