It’s hard to judge because Maye came from a horrid college program and Mac came from the best team in the nation. I watched Maye at NC and he looked like superman doing all the work to make his team reasonable, Mac looked like he was a tourist on vacation playing toss at the beach.
Mac wasn’t a game manager, he didn’t make smart decisions, he couldn’t handle pressure but he aleo couldn’t line the offense up and point out pressures, he turned it over. He was a poor leader and had a reputation as a dirty player back stabber.
Maye doing proper footwork is repetition, drills, consistency. What I see in Maye, beyond more athletic talent, is leadership and positive approach. The kid is dialed in, Mac was flighty… and I thought Mac had potential coming out… still do.
Mac reminds me of Kirk Cousins before his balls dropped with Washington. He starts screaming and giving hell to reporters and suddenly he’s efficient and doesn’t turn it over as much. Maybe Mac nuts up one day.
