We could trade with DEN who wants really wants one of the top 4 QB's.

Or, we could draft the most highly rated QB, who MAY BE an average plus NFL starter after a year. We can then use our 34 and 68 to draft a top LT's and a top WR, probably the 9th best OT and 12th best WR.

O yeah, there is one chance in 20 (who thinks better?) that Maye will become an NFL start top 5 QB)

Maye or MHJ. You need to hit with 3rd overall. If you assume both players are what their potential says they are, then they are worth more than what you get in trade.

The Vikings are the only ones with real trade capital to get this done. We swap the 3rd for the 11, 23, and a first next year.

Okay well with the 11th you likely are forced into getting Penix because you can't wait until 23 so you basically swapped picks to get a worse QB and the 23rd overall is the only extra you got on it. By that point all the gotta have them prospects on offensive line, wr, and qb are gone.

Honestly the only way a trade makes sense to me is if the team decides not to go QB at all and is intent on signaling that they are in a longterm rebuild and want to stockpile higher draft picks

If Washington drafts Daniels, I’m going to be psyched. He has some real problems with his game. He just played with ridiculous talent last year. I’ll be fine with taking McCarthy or trading down, but will be thrilled with drafting Maye. He has some Mahomes and Allen in his game.
