Maybe not pats related any more but diggs ended up not guilty

Stop it, I don't "hate" Diggs you simpleton, just saying being found "Not Guilty" doesn't mean that he didn't do anything.
Doesn't mean he did either, but his lawyer was pretty good either way.
This was a criminal trial, so his burden was merely to raise reasonable doubt that Diggs was guilty, not to prove his innocence. Per ESPN, he didn't need to do all that much.

At times during her second day on the stand, Adams was instructed by the judge to answer questions directly and not include additional details beyond what was asked. Portions of her responses were struck from the record as nonresponsive, with jurors told to disregard them.

"This is not an opportunity for you to interject your own narrative and evade answering questions," Judge Jeanmarie Carroll told her at one point, warning that continued nonresponsive answers could result in her testimony being stricken.

Not sure what this means, but OK.
He did enough to get it dismissed, that's his job.

Thanks

I watched the trial. It was one of the worst prosecutions I have ever seen. No fault of the prosecutor, mind you, just that the alleged victim was absolutely atrocious. She got caught lying, she was belligerent, evasive....
She wouldnt answer her own lawyers questions. Its the most bizzarre court footage I have seen. They trying to lead her and she was saying Attorney /client privalege to her own team.

Guys like Diggs are always in trouble.

Jeanelle Sales, Diggs' chief of staff, who also goes by "Sunni," testified she saw Adams at the home on the day she alleged she was assaulted and did not see visible marks, redness or swelling on her neck or face. She said Adams appeared to be in normal spirits.
Why TF does he need a chief of staff ?

Sounds like a good way to blow a lot of money.

If anything it saves them money in the long run. A business manager to run the business, an accountant to count the pennies and a chief of staff to make sure everyone's doing their job is a) way more normal than you think and b) saves money in the long run.

Beats blowing it all on cars and blow, and end up in jail trying to scam home equity loans when the signing appearances dry up.

Yeah, on the face of it, it sounds weird - but in reality it's probably a sign that he's pretty sharp and being smart with his money. At least, relative to the average NFL player.

Diggs has made North of 150 mil in career earnings.
You can't just have your Mom go with you to contract signings and call it a day. That's real money.

I'm skeptical at best.

Is this the same Diggs that everyone trashed after the SB loss saying he cannot get separation anymore and could not beat man coverage. Now everyone wants him.
I would want him on the team but not as the primary target.

I think some people wanting him back are not remembering right. He wasn't cut because he had a court case pending. He got cut because his '26 cap hit was gonna be $26.5m they tried to restructure that and he said no.

I know Wolf said door is open. But usually when you restructure someone you have your number and it's highly doubtful they are going to go up on that number which was a number Diggs declined.

Right but if he comes back for the right price that would be great.

Yes, though he wasn't in a great negotiating position given the charges against him. If he was convinced of his own innocence then much better to hold off until after the trial and gain interest from other teams.

I'd think they would have had to lowball him or defer guaranteed money as if he were convicted of strangulation, would they still be as eager to have him on the team? Or cut him and eat the guaranteed money?

That being said your point is that even without the charges against him, would they have wanted to pay Diggs $27.5 million when someone like Brown is younger and in that same price range?

Nope.

I'd still take him back whether or not the Brown deal falls through if its reasonable money but we'll see what the market dictates.

He's much MORE efficient than Brown is so I'd still be ok keeping our picks and bringing him back

but his lawyer was pretty good either way.

If you looked at how it went it had nothing to do with his lawyer being good. Had 100% to do with the alleged victim being hostile and multiple statements of her's being proven wrong. At one point the judge told her she'd strike her whole testimony from the record if she kept giving non-responsive and narrative answers. The judge threatening to strike the victim's testimony mid-trial was her saying she was gonna dismiss the case against Diggs since there would be no case without the victim's testimony. The prosecutor even in his closing to the jury described her testimony as argumentative and avoidant. Not a good sign when the prosecutor in closing is basically telling the jury ya the key witness was not a good witness

This is a look of a prosecutor that knows the case is lost before he even finishes his closing argument to the jury

A year one law school student could have won this case with the evidence that Diggs had which was simply security camera footage of her dancing immediately after the time she said the incident happened and a receipt of him paying her of which she claimed he didn't.
