Some of the members of this forum are shell shocked after the
loss of Tom Brady. They have delusions that Bill Belichick can
convert Matt Cassel into a serviceable quarterback who will lead
the Pats to the playoffs and maybe the Superbowl. The sad fact
is that the majority of the teams in the AFC have a better quarterback
than Matt Cassel.
You have delusions that you can see into the future or evaluate a player with minimal data. BB has been coaching Cassel to be a serviceable QB since he was drafted. Now he has a chance, with great coaching, to grow into a serviceable role and be a PART of helping a great team get deep in the playoffs.
The majority of the teams may have more experienced QBs, and maybe you can even argue better production as of right now in the passing game, but it's only week 4. Cassel has room to grow, the O-Line must improve, the red zone offense will improve, the D will be good etc...
Cassel only needs to do his job, he doesn't need to go all willy nilly like Favre. Cassel CAN and hopefully will become a good part of an entire team effort.
