it was a good speech, but i was thinking, dang, that's a lot of injuries. especially to his knees:

7th grade: broken leg
10th grade: tore meniscus in left knee
freshman year: broke right pinky
spring junior year: tore meniscus in right knee
fall junior year: tore ACL
spring before senior year: fractured hip wall
training camp before senior year: knee injury (not specific--"made a cracking noise--it blows up")
right knee injury during rookie season
right knee injury during training camp before 2nd year

can he possibly come back at a 100% for next year? i hope so.

Seemed much more accomplished and smooth, than I would expect for a newbie doing this.. he does not come across as a first timer..

Good for him, his advocacy for reading and spreading that message is admirable..

Michell was a success even if we see nothing else from him. He played a big role in the last few drives of the Superbowl, anyone who helps his team win a Superbowl in that way was worth the 4th rounder we spent on him.

but you're right, the guy is already all tore up. He's got more wear and tear on his knees than many 30 year olds. I'm just not all that hopeful about seeing him on the field again.

Don't be so damned provincial. The goal is always to be a success at life. If you can win some football games too, so be it. But I'd rather see a guy win at life and fail at football, then the opposite which we see far too much of in the NFL these days

That’s not normal wear and tear. Even for a pro football player. That’s a LOT of knee injuries and surgeries. Hope he’s saving his money because he’s likely looking at total knee replacements maybe as early as his 40’s.

I hope Mitchell's knees allow him to contribute this season. His off the field story is really inspiring. However, with the competition at WR and his shaky knees, that may not be possible.
