Malcolm Butler Mega Thread

Malcolm admitted not being ready.

Seems to me you refuse to hold him accountable.

Should he take blame for not being ready? Yes

Should BB take blame for not playing him at all? Yes

It’s not a punishment if you deem him prepared to play special teams. Not even trying to see what he brought to the table on defense when they were getting exploited on multiple mismatches without him made no sense. You had nothing to lose, they were moving the ball at will.

I know. It's sad, but it's what happens when a cult-like mentality takes over. Any criticism of Belichick makes them absolutely deranged. Instead of admitting "Bill" made a mistake, it's butt hurt whining about criticizing their king.

If "Bill" were to ever admit he effed up their heads would explode.
Same goes for the 100s of Malcolm Apologists on this board like you

The Pats were winning the game.

Now BB puts a player in who admits he wasn't ready?

Nope. The fact of the matter is that the Pats got historically shredded on defense and lost the Super Bowl because Belichick refused to change course, hoping that Brady would save him again.
If only Malcolm was ready to play on defense....which he admitted he wasnt

A fluff post. Using attacks but in the end there’s no real point.

Really? You're going in on that one? lol.

"I got kind of sick. I went to the hospital. They probably thought I was kind of late on the game plan or I wasn’t as locked in as I should be and could have been a matchup deal. It could have been anything."

That's the quote of a guy taking the high road, which explains why his teammates, like TOM BRADY, have publicly supported him and he signed a huge contract with a team coached by a former Patriot. If you want to quote him, quote him after the game when he accurately said he could have helped bring home yet another Super Bowl for the Patriots, like he did against Seattle.

I understand the Belichick derangment syndrome going on, but come on. Be better.

Thanks for supporting my point.

Agreed. Sounds like a guy who’s moved on, he was resentful when it happened but time heals all wounds. He’s over it and ready to start his new chapter in Tennessee.

Butler’s a class act. Glad he got paid and i hope he has a great season but not against us.
You're right. He seems like a real good guy. I wish he was still here, but it just wasn't to be. To me, he'll be a Patriot to be remembered fondly for a great moment in our team's history. Wish him well, except against us!

I think Butler’s willingness to praise Belichick is due to the fact that Belichick never threw him under the bus, and took the slings and arrows for the decision. Many coaches would have justified that significant a decision and by doing so lessen that player’s value in free agency. Belichick just mumbled on and Butler got paid.

This past super bowl aside, Butler realizes that he’s not where he’s at today if BB doesn’t take a chance on him.
