I would give them Buchholz, Crisp, Kalish and another prospect, Diaz or Navarro for Zack Greinke, would the Royals take such a package?

say what...are you crazy? That is way too much for Greinke IMO

I dont know if its too much.Zack Greinke is a star in the making. The guy can pitch.

Great arm, terrific stuff, but was seeing a shrink cuz he's mentally unstable. I'm not sure I'd want him in the Boston market, especially since he'd cost valuable prospects, as opposed to only money.

I just want to start young again on the rotation.I love Wake and all he has doned but its time to let him go.

No thanks. If the Sox are gonna trade away valuable prospects I would hope they would get a top of the rotation guy in return.

Huh?Zack Greinke is a top of the rotation guy.Too me he is like a second starter with ace potential.

Peavy all the way

As a Yankees fan, I'd do cart wheels if the Redsox obtained Jake Peavy from SD. The contrast in his splits are brutal, not to mention he's been abused in the 3 most important games he's ever pitched in.

They would take that deal in a second and then laugh at us. Buchholz is a younger, more mentally stable version of Grienke, Crisp is a starting outfielder on most teams, Kalish is one of the three power bats we have in the minors, and both Diaz and Navarro are gold glove quality SS.

Then you have to consider that the Padres want two pitching prospects and a power bat for JAKE PEAVY, I would much rather spend a little more and get Peavy.

Royals Get:
Buchholz-24
Coco Crisp-28
Ryan Kalish-20
Yamaico Navarro-20

Sox Get:
Zack Greinke-25

or

Padres Get:
Buchholz
Masterson/Bowden/Bard
Josh Reddick

Sox Get:
Jake Peavy

Honestly I wouldnt do either trade but if I had to choose I would go for Peavy

Both will cost more, especially Peavy. Peavy will begin with Lars Anderson & Bucholz.

As good as Peavey is, i hope we stay away.No way i would give up Lars Anderson and whateva else they want.Peavey is also not that young pitcher and who knows how he would do in the A.L.

I completely agree, Peavy's splits against AL teams are at best average. Obviously he is gonna cost more than Greinke to get, but in the end I think it will turn out to be a Santana like stiuation, where noone will be willing to give up their top prospects and the Padres will either take him off the market or get lees than he is worth. Braves just stated that they arent interested...

Agreed. Would much prefer Peavy who is fairly well proven innings eater with Ace potential.

PS Lars Anderson is considered untouchable by the Sox org though. And for good reason.
