Mac Not Happy With the Groceries

Exactly…… but generally…. it is anonymous source… That no one has ever met or seen… Media loves to create controversy and website hits
The "shoot the messenger / ignore the message" faction has been activated once again.

Albert Breer chuckles.
Even JJSS is cracking a smile

What's even funnier is this message board is in 100% agreement with the anonymous source, the groceries are garbage, yet how dare Mac entertain such thoughts or utter them to a family member or AGENT whose job is to support his client and deflect criticism directly or indirectly when necessary. Of course he thinks his supporting cast is garbage....IT IS. And of course he's privately venting just like he did last year to the Bama coaches. He and his agent and the minions he has activated to be his anonymous voice are engaged in deflection and damage control because their common goal to secure Mac a significant second contract is under threat.

He got Jones playing good football last season, brung them to the second round of the playoffs. BB has done nothing with any other QB named The GOAT.
Daniel Jones was not playing good QB.

If Lance got back a 4 what could Mac get us in a trade?
I said yesterday if Lance got a 4 then Mac should get a 3, but people said that's crazy. We'll see I guess.

Would Mac get us a comp 3 if we let him walk and he’s signed somewhere else? Obviously assuming we’re entitled to comp picks…

I was responding to the comments whether they were made up or not.

We need to recognize that some reporters are careful to confirm stories, like M Reiss, and others post anything that gets clicks, like Breer. We have to assume that Breer's reporting is not facts.

Let's say they are true. Why are these execs coming out now to say it?

Why is Breer, Curran and others piling on it now? This is a rhetorical question, but I've seen the pattern with them being too scared to talk about this until the timing is right with loses piling up.

Why would we say they are true? There is no historical example that Breer has the attention of any meaningful NFL exec. History does not matter to you? You like to play pretend?

Screw Cousins, blow it up and start fresh with a rookie QB, use your 100 plus million in cap and surround the rookie with legit NFL talent.

Really? I recall you banging your head for years about Blake Bortles, Case Keenum, Trent Dilfer, Brad Johnson, the 80s Redskins etc. The QB is just one of the 53, teams win all the time with subpar QB play and it’s all about the 53 and the coaching staff.

Now it’s all on Mac and you’ve 180’d on years of posts.
You couldn’t comprehend or talk nuanced football, sounds like a “you” problem.

Never said QB's don't matter, ever, I’ve always said it was a team game. And very specifically said, you can with with just "good" QB play, but you'll never win with "bad" QB play.

If that's ^ wrong, then how did Nick Foles beat Brady throwing for 505 yards and 3 TD's, and Eli Manning beat him twice?

Those QB’s ^ were simply "good," not "great," but they were on great teams. They played efficiently and not much else.

Mac has been “bad,” horrible, league worst… and that is miles away from “good.”

IMO I think he's going to Vegas for draft capital.. I'd say a 3 myself.

It took me some time to realize.. but Mac's mentally not enaged, he doesn't trust the people around him starting with the coach, the HC. It's just probably best to trade Mac.. this thing has to be rebuilt correctly with a new GM and HC as we all know.

This is the correct take. Cousins is 35 and has 1 playoff win in a 10 year career and has been on better teams than this. I really don't get the point in getting a short term guy who isn't going to take us over the top. We are rebuilding. Cousins is not going to be viable by the end of it. This year isn't worth saving to get some meaningless wins late and just ruin our draft position like we did in 2020.

Jakobi Meyers just caught another TD.

Meanwhile somewhere Juju is still trying to get out of his break.

Seeing Jonnu Smith actually be pretty productive on a team that doesn't really pass is just wild to me. He has 44 more yards than Juju and Gesicki combined. The money and resources that have been poured into finding a true number one receiving option post Gronk have been insane and we still have nothing there.

N'Keal Harry 1st round pick
Mohammed Sanu cost us a second round pick
Antonio Brown $9 million for a game
Devin Asiasi 3rd round pick
Dalton Keene 3rd round pick
Jonnu Smith $31 million guaranteed
Hunter Henry $25 million guaranteed
Tyquan Thronton 2nd round pick

Those 8 guys produced a whopping 257 catches, 2990 yards, and 23 receiving TDs. (Hunter Henry is the only mild success from that group and if you remove his 108 catches, 1288 yards and 13 TDs as a Patriot you're left with 7 guys who produced 149 catches, 1,702 yards, and 10 TDs)

That's a first, two seconds, two thirds, $60 million in free agent contracts to get 51 less catches, 2042 less yards, and 14 less TDs than just AJ Brown alone.
Uh-huh. All these guys doing better elsewhere. Gee, I wonder why

Cousins makes sense to me if Bill is staying. Bill wants to win now and Cousins is a stable and solid veteran with a few good years left at least. He would only cost less than $10M of salary for this year to bring in.

The Vikings would gain a few million in cap relief this year and then incur a dead cap hit of around $28M in 2024. But if they lose another couple games they may be inclined to get younger at QB and go for a top pick at QB to pair with Justin Jefferson, Jordan Addison, TJ Hockenson, Alex Mattison and the rest of that potent group. They’d be really good with one of the top QBs next year.

Meanwhile Bill can gain immediate stability and veteran leadership at QB. He can sign a new extension for Cousins to push the bigger hits a few years out and focus on acquiring OL and WR help to go with him. They would probably miss out on a top 5 pick this year but may still be top 10 so could fill one of those needs in the first round. They have lots of cash to fill their needs coming up if they are smart with it. They can trade Mac to some other team, not necessarily to the Vikings themselves.
I think you and I are flipping positions at this point. Last week I would've been all for Cousins. Now I'm looking at the 5th pick in the draft and a trade up for Caleb Williams.

The thought that some "offensive minded" "proven HC" is going to come in here and do better than Bill is absolutely asinine. Moving on from Bill means a full ground up rebuild of this roster and 3-5 years or longer of being at the bottom. Everything went wrong this year. Defense lost all four corners and its leader, the offensive line has not worked out (be it Klemm, an unmotivated Trent Brown or injuries) and Mac has clearly taken a step back rather than forward. Everyone around here wants to blame Bill. I get it. But blaming him and moving on isnt going to turn this roster into the 49ers.
You make valid and factual points. I'll say this. BB was great and he deserves alot of credit for the winning rightly so. However..It just isn't working out like the organization, and us as fans would have hoped. However as well as the credit he deserves he is in direct control of personnel and roster decisions. It's ok.. all things have an end date. At some point the organization was going to have to plan for life without BB. He should be allowed to leave on his terms. However we've gotten worse with each passing season since the "rebuild " . BB is a creature of habit, he knows more than anyone how thr NFL and running a franchise works. It's just time. We are going no where fast.. the team looks dejected , no faith or believe in each other. Mac I don't know what's happened to him. The 49ers you mentioned were pretty bad for a few years. It took them to get the right GM/ coach combination.. the same has to happen here.

What about Matt Cassell? 3-1 with Jacoby Brisset and a gimpy Jimmy G.

Other than smith. They all are busts.

For some reason they never figured out how to use smith
