AJ Brown wants out of Philly? Clashing with lockeroom?

I understand the sentiment. To compare Marcus Williams to AJ Brown as a WR is straight homer talk, however
I didn’t compare him to Brown though did I.

I have no clue what Williams will develop into, but then neither do you.

A player comp I used for him at the draft was Stefon Diggs… a young Diggs. He’s a prospect, the definition is in the title.

Williams has played very little, he has played well. Reward him and keep increasing his snaps. See what he develops into…

Umm, basic English.

You said:
They should play Marcus Williams instead, he costs nothing.

The use of “instead,” implies that acquiring AJ Brown, which I acknowledged would hold a considerable expense, and playing him was comparable to playing Marcus Williams.

That is a comparison, one that implies equality.

No, I said play the rookie and develop him. That’s nowhere near a one for one comparison with AJ Brown.

They don’t need AJ Brown at all… they’re currently 10th in scoring with the potential to be much higher assuming they continue with the mistake free football. The Eagles are 11th, one spot behind them. The Pats rank 7th in passing yards, the Eagles rank 31st.

The Pats will be just fine with their current group of receivers assuming health. AJ Brown costs almost 30 million per, the Patriots are spending 28 million on every WR they have on the roster this season. Williams alone costs 1.7 million per on average.

AJ Brown needs the Patriots a lot more than they need him. Play Williams more… see what he’s got.

Wozzy I'm greedy I want them all. A.J. Brown - Older S Diggs in the Slot - Boutte and Kyle Williams outside. Defense watchout: Canton rewrite the record books: Maye will be playing pitch and catch.

I think AJ Brown needs a new self help book. May I suggest “How to make friends and influence people”.

I love Brown as a player, but imagine having the two biggest WR Divas of the last decade on your team. No thanks, unless we can get him for a bargain. Diggs has behaved himself so far, but if you bring in Brown, not sure how long that would last.

The trade Buffalo doesn't want to see NE make.

It’s unlikely, but possibly…

You have to ask yourself, WHY is he so unhappy in Philly? They are a great team. good coaching, a winning organization, and they seem to have a together locker room. They are also paying him top dollar.

Why would you want to bring aboard someone who could turn on you in an instant and you'll be guessing on why??

They locker room is a very fragile organism. Bringing Brown in will always be a threat to that organism. Also someone prior brought up the issue of having 2 recognized divas on the same team. Diggs has been great so far both on the field and in the locker room. Will that last if you add Brown to the mix?

Then when you add the losing snaps and the slowing the development of Boutee and Williams (and Chism PLUS whatever draft capital has to go with it, the risk is not worth the reward IMHO

I think Diggs likes to be top dog. He's been a good soldier. I would be concerned about him turning to the dark side.
Yep, I think you may be correct Zuma

I wouldn’t sign off on any trade til Mike would speak with Diggs, Maye and others to gauge their thoughts on bringing him in.

Vrabs Loves Brown so I’m sure if it was possible he would push for it.

Well that doesn't happen often. Not sure what to do at this point. It's new territory.

DIggs contract was really team friendly if he didn't pan out.
his base in 2025 is $2.9m. his cap is $8.7m
if they cut him after season 1, his total guarantee was $16m
year 2 and 3, his base in $21m. his cap hit is $26m. not insurmountable, but he is 33 years old next season.

To your question remember Moss and Welker when Welker took off?? Moss was a very good decoy who got disgruntled because he didn't get open as quick as Welker. Regarding Brown; Philly have a Great OL - Hof RB and a Very Good QB who runs also. A.J. Brown doesn't like being a decoy in that scenario. We could have a similar problem if Henderson reaches his Potential. When you have a very special RB you should be known as a Run First Team. Most Diva WR's don't like that.

The master class on sarcasm will start in about an hour. Don't be late.
