Eh, that's typical though. Brady won it for Super Bowl 36 despite a rating of 86. Probably should have been Ty Law then. I even think it should have been someone on defense in Super Bowl 53 given how low scoring that game was, but Edelman was deserving too. But defensive players are always overlooked for MVPs.

Yeah..there have been some pretty undeserving SB MVPs. Malcolm Smith in SB48 was another horrendous selection. He was literally one of the worst players on that great defense and even on the ”MVP” play, he did virtually nothing. Russell Wilson had his way all day with that defense and had a 123 passer rating and 2 TDs despite calling off the dogs in Q3.

That was probably the worst selection I’ve seen. Some of the others may have been controversial or argumentative, but this one had no basis.
