Mac Jones Through 2 Games (2021 vs 2022 vs 2023) By QTR and Redzone Totals

Mac's arm strength is adequate, not great but certainly not poor. His accuracy and decision making are superior. Punky McMilfson has a better arm and look where that's gotten him. Quarterbacks that have it all are few and far between.
Not disagreeing with either you or @Rob0729 but both Tua and Purdy are surrounded by multiple top line pass catchers and when looking at Mac, unless the same occurs, I'm not sure he has "enough" to hang with the elite NFL QBs, the Kirk Cousins good but never good enough type of QB.

Of course, I hope the complete opposite eventuates and he becomes the stud I hoped we drafted.

Brady won.

Didn't you post in the Tampa Bay ghetto a while back that you were done with the NFL when Brady retires? What happened with that? All you do now is foul various threads by ignorantly throwing shade at Mac and BB.

It is far easier to surround a Mac, Tua, or Purdy with top line pass catchers than getting an elite QB. We probably won’t see either with the Patriots until after Belichick is gone though. The former because Belichick doesn’t believe in spending the capital on top line receiver talent. The latter because because it could be years before any teams drafts the next elite QB never mind the Patriots.

Question for people who say Jones sucks because of his record and your record is one of the most important indicators for a QB.

Would you trade a high first rounder for Justin Herbert? Now remember he isn’t that good because he is only a .500 QB (25-26, 25-27 if you count the playoffs). Is a middle of the road QB like Herbert really worth a first round pick?

No.

He's one of the few in the top QBs in the league with multiple TDs without an INT so far this season:
He's actually the perfect example of folks who believe stats are more important than wins.

I would take Lamar Jackson over Herbert every day of the week and I can't stand Lamar.

Man...I don't know about that. Consistently injured and hasn't had much success in the postseason.

And I hear you about the stats, but try and also keep in mind that with Herbert, there are a lot of issues out there with their defense that have been their problem so far. Not the offense.

And a lot of the other players in that list are all 1-1, it's not like the gap record-wise is that deep yet across the board. Especially given that in a lot of cases, it's only a one-game difference since only two teams in the conference are 2-0. Not saying that will remain the case, but obviously, that's where things sit for most of them right now.

Herbert has never been to the postseason.

Jackson is 47-16. He is one of 2 QBs in the last 7 years who won his first 5 starts. The other was Mahomes.

I don't disagree about Herbert but every team has issues in the cap era. It is impossible to have a perfect team. The Ravens have had a ton of injuries to key players and are 2-0 while Herbert with a much healthier team is 0-2.

That’s a good stat, but obviously beyond those 5 wins, that doesn’t change a couple of key negatives. He’s been a great regular season QB, but again, knock on him has been health and postseason success. The latter will be the next knock against Mac if he was to get them to a solid record but get bounced in January.

Until Jackson overcomes those, I’d be concerned with whether he can be reliable enough to take them further. And that’s something Ravens fans have mentioned a fair amount, also.

First things first. Having a QB who wins you 2 out of 3 games every time is elite. It means you have a chance every year at getting to the post-season and winning a title.

I agree. Don’t get me wrong, he’s a good player. They sort of don’t know much about him from that standpoint. Obviously, he wins a lot of games, but the next question is going to be whether or not he can carry them deeper into the postseason, as well as if he can start getting smarter with the hits he takes.

That’s a big if. And it’s tough because he’s also a good athlete where when things break down, he’s tough to defend when he takes off.

I’m not a huge fan of seeing Baltimore have success, so I’m a little biased there. But as good as he is, he’s still got to prove to people that what we’ve seen isn’t the norm. Maybe he will, but it’s a long year. And he also still has to try and stay healthy to get there. That’s a big ask for someone who plays the way he does.

I root for him when I take Baltimore in the picks contest…and I still feel a little guilty each time I do
