A lot of talk about this ....
"And Warner said that simplifying the offense negatively affects how Jones processes information during a play."
As well as about Mac's anticipation.
These were talked about predraft but also
a lot last offseason as one of the
three things I wanted to see improvement on this year, his second year (post snap processing) I keep bringing this up, the predraft stuff bc it's a good baseline. Decent measuring stick when they hit the pros.
I tried to look up a few old post I had on Mac but had no luck. This popped up though from last January.
...
"The people that don't think he has to improve his velocity are my favorite rn. Clearly lacking and if he wasn't a Pat it would talked about more. As someone who thought he could improve his
mechanics going back to last year, this is key.
Release should / could improve as well.
Post snap processing, body / conditioning,
footwork / mechanics is the list for me. Luckily all three could improve. I heard Aaron Rodgers and other great players from different sports talk about picking one thing and trying to master it in the off-season. He'll naturally be studying and working out so if he can make strides in his
footwork, release point and other things we could see a big difference."

Mac does have a tough time processing information post snap, off of coverage disguise, at times off his first read. You combine that with a bad OL and his ability to process and throw with anticipation will definitely be effected. Thats why a top tier OL is so important for him. More than his targets although they need an upgrade as well. He has really good anticipation but needs a superior line to help with that. Really good anticipation on deep stuff, at least coming out but again everything was from a clean pocket. When it's not clean, he has to think, deal with quick/immediate pressure his decision making suffers.
I know Waldman noted this as well. He's one of 3-4 people I actually pay attention to. We disagreed and agreed in different areas but I think very highly of Matt.
Both of us talked about his post/snap processing a lot though and thought it could improve. We disagreed on how he handled pressure. Matt thought more highly of him in that area than I did. I believe he had him in the "committee" category in terms of decision making which is basically average and star caliber when it came to dealing with pressure.
I'm at work and dont have a ton of time but this talk of "anticipation" "decision making" "post snap processing" made me go back and take a look at some Jones reports.
Waldman might be my favorite.

Lance is great too.

Mentioned this a few times but draft geeks nailed the Mac Jones eval so far. We get our fair share wrong but almost word for word these ring true.
I still think Mac could be a good QB but he needs a ton of help around him. That sounds obvious but it gets very tough when you factor in the limited mobility, problems with pressure/second level pressure, lack of big arm and quick processing.
Very frustrating year. This is multiple years since Brady that we're either going through the motions or just punting. I expect big changes this or next offseason.
