Has NE even officially put a tender on Butler?
or on Thursday a minute before the deadline.
Smart enough to pay him more than we will match and give up a 1st round pick for the privilege?Yes they made the tender... He's gone if there's some smart teams out there
Teams almost never sign 1st round tendered RFAs.As much as I hate to say it felgers right on this one... A team in the bottom of the draft that needs def help should sign him - Miami, Oakland, Pittsburgh, Atlanta... Would be worth it to them....
Hope this doesn't backfire

If you think big picture its like paying your draft choice 10 times as much.
I think the defense from 2014 to 2016 taught me no one is irreplaceable, especially when there is a cap.Agreed. I wouldn't mind losing butler for a 1st and drafting a promising CB who will be cheap for the next 4-5 years. Then we can sign Bennett and Hightower again.
Giardi reporting Butler not happy w his situation in NE....
I expect the team to make more of an effort to sign him longtermWhat do you expect? He is a probowl corner who is grossely underpaid. He could make 11-14 million per year on the open market
