Lombardi: Randy Moss waived by Vikings [mergedx19]

Is there any doubt that if Moss ends up back at New England he'll cherish the opportunity to be here and will return to the form he's capable of providing.

I'd take Moss back in a heart beat if he realizes his role in the offense and that his number will be called eventually.

was wondering if any media person asked chilly if hes quitting on the season since he let randy go...

Man am I glad we got rid of him when we did.

While i wouldn't be overly surprised if he was brought back.. i just don't think it will happen. Maybe our offense hasn't been the best without him (not that it was with him outside 2007). But i just find it hard to believe that BB would bring him back in after all this drama. Granted I'm still a big fan and would take him back without a problem but seriously this guy might be frikken nuts!

Greetings,
Great observation, especially since so many clueless ones were all over BB for making the trade. Let them tell it, BB was stupid for doing it and that this team was done. I also wonder what the chicken littles have to say about it as well. They thought the Patriots days as an elite team were behind them.
Peace,

Why? Because the Vikes prove that they are morons?

No, because where Randy goes, drama follows.

But if the truly insane happened and he ended up back here I would be pleased because I trust BB ALWAYS does what is best for the team.

There's no way he comes back. I don't care if he pinky swears to be good or anything. This isn't the '07 team and he's gone.

As far as the Vikings not officially releasing him yet... I think it's probably Chilli trying to find a way to screw the Pats out of the third rounder. After yesterday's lovefest, I'm sure the Vikings brass said "there's no way we are giving a 3rd to NE for Moss to stand at the podium and give The Hoodie a BJ"

I only heard this news an hour ago so I apologize for not reading the thread but ARE YOU KIDDING ME ?!? I feel bad for Randy actually, talk about a lost soul.

Someway somehow I see him back here by the playoffs.

When was our last Dull Moment:rocker:

More notes and quotes:

ESPN's Chris Mortensen said on SportsCenter Monday evening that Childress has "lost the locker room."

"He really has," Mortensen said. "The players are not Childress guys right now. There's a sense there, 'does this head coach really know what he's doing?' That's the truth. You talk to people in that locker room, that's what you you're gonna get from them."

Reports: Brad Childress acted alone on Moss; has "lost the locker room" | ProFootballTalk.com

Childress did not tell management of his desire to part with Moss, according to Lombardi,

multiple members of the Vikings organization -- the front office and the players -- want Randy Moss back (not that he ever left).

Even if team talks Chilly out of actually waiving Moss, those close to Moss says no way he returns now w Chilly there, not after this

I just dont want him to go to the jets or dolphins.. Childress is a boob... Its going to come down Childress or Moss...

Wait!

With the Cincy postgame press conf, Moss kinda shoots his way outa NE perhaps unintentionally
Then in another postgame press conf, Randy blows his way outa Minny
Or not...

Two simple words...

Moss was here. BB decided he did not want him here. I don't see that changing. For me, the reason was strictly performance based. I think he no longer wants to lay it all on the line and sacrifice his body to win a game, and he no longer has enough speed to compensate for his lack of toughness. In the NBA, you can assemble a bunch of talent and win. In the NFL, there is a real chemistry, and I don't think Moss embodies the values BB wants and that we see in so many current players.

This leads to an interesting situation.....

Reportedly, Miami and Seattle have already contacted Moss' agent. Could it be......

More fun with Vikings fans, this time from a non-sports blogger:

Childress has to go and he has to go now. He's the only coach in the league capable of being outcoached by Mike Singletary. There's no need for an interim coach, just let Brett Favre do it. It's not like he could do any worse.

I don't think that BB decided he didn't want Moss around as much as BB had enough respect for Moss to see that Moss wasn't happy with his current contract situation so BB got whatever he could for Moss.

But, we'll never know. We can only speculate.

Unbelievable. Chilly has managed to knock his drama queen QB off the NFL front page...

Yeah. I don't see any way that Childress survives this. If Wilf doesn't fire him before next season, there'll be a run on tar and feathers in Minnesota.

Still hasnt been waived yet though, should be an interesting next few days.

Obviously Chilly is an issue there, having problems with Favre and Moss. Could things change if he is fired?

If Moss is indeed waived, I would say Seattle and Miami would be the top candidates to claim Moss, but the bigger question is would Moss actually report to them?
