Poteat's historical contributions to this team may be overrated be some. He was a marginal DB on a great team who was an afterthought the next season and cut.

It's nice to see some sacks and not to nitpick too much, but the pass rush took some time to get to the QB. The coverage must have been pretty good, because Sanchez had some time back there.

Either that or Sanchez sucks pretty bad.
It must suck to be a jets fan knowing deep down their QB is topped out and pretty much blows goats (had to throw that in).

I root for every guy out there but let's get real. This was one game where we created an excellent pass rush. Consistency is the key to a good defense. Last night was a start and cause for excitement, but I'm not anointing anyone just yet. Hats off to the whole defense. They deserve it.

Normally I would agree.

But this game showed progress. Carter said himself weeks ago the pass rush is coming together. Maybe they've found it. No one can deny Mark Anderson has shown flashes all year in spot duty. He was on Sanchez ALL night, that was an extremely effective 1.5 sack performance. Carter has just been outstanding all season, last night was a great night, and I doubt he'll repeat that type of night consistently, but you can't deny he has been by far our most consistent player in the front 7.

And now these two have finally found the field together, and it looks like it might just be what the doctor ordered. I agree it is one game, they still have a lot of proving themselves to do (how about we see a consistent rush for the next few weeks atleast) before I trust this D. But you can't tell me last night did not show a step in the right direction. It's not like some guy who has been invisible all year finally stepped up. You have one guy who has been doing it all season and another one who's shown flashes. I'm not gonna get too excited, and not to sound repetitive, but this might be what we've been looking for.

And BTW, I find it funny the same night we have a pass rush we're going on and on about how good PS players performed in the secondary. Man what a pass rush can do..

Next week probably won't be much of a test with Tyler Palko behind center.

Let's not forget Moore, one of our starting safeties. Also the defense did not "feature" Brown or Ventrone.

However, the answer to your question is that the jets offense and Sanchez in particular are terrible.

Any team with a competent OC, a competent QB, and an OK offensive line would have scored at least 28 against us. Of course, that doesn't mean that we wouldn't have won the game.

Before we get too excited about Adams, it would be good to see him perform a couple times. Recognize that he hasn't been able to hold onto the 53rd position based on his performance in practice. He's been released and re-signed several times this season.

But for one night, he was right up there with Tarpinian, White, Moulden, Ventrone, and the others on this defense in shutting down the Jets. This defense has nowhere near the talent of the 2001 defense. That was considered a 'no-name defense,' but it included Seymour, Vrabel, Phifer, McGinest, Bruschi, Johnson, Law, and Milloy. But we can hope it can develop into something like that.

Compared to what we've seen from Molden he has looked fantastic lol

I've been a big fan of Adams though since the 2nd half of the Steeler game, he seems to be a real find.

He's got at least twso more DBs shuttling on and off the practice squad all year (I think). I imagine he feels he'd rather have some guys putting out and taking the coaching than have to babysit guys like Meriweather when they feel like freelancing instead.

With the practice squad he gets a chance to prepare them in practice.
