This has an opening post with good commentary and information, which we definitely recommend reading.

The two biggest impact FAs the team could sign:

1. Calvin Ridley - A 75 1,000 8 season after missing a year from football is impressive. Considering he is 29 it'll be hard for him to get a 4 year deal. The pats can afford to overpay him with a QB on a rookie deal. There is alot of talk on a potential bridge QB but Ridley would be a good fit as a bridge WR1. While he isn't a top 10-15 WR he instantly brings the pats WR group to respectability & helps the rookie QBs development. Ridley, Douglas & a day 2 WR would be the team's best WR room since 2017.

2. L'Jarius Snead - Snead is all about BPA in FA. He was an all-pro snub & is arguably the best press man CB in the NFL. He is a perfect fit in the pats scheme could elevate the defense to top 5 status. The pats don't have anyone making 20+ APY & that needs to change. Snead would be a good start IMO.

Neither of these players would cost draft capital. You could also focus on QB & OT with the first two picks.
Isn’t Pittman a free agent?

Agreed, I like Sneed. I don't know if he's the best press CB in the league..but he's definitely a top 10 CB in the league. Question though. Does KC retain him?

All in on Ridley, definitely like his game he would thrive in the AVP west coast offense.

Great couple of years to have to overhaul the offense to a new system. There’s going to be some serious roster turnover over the next few seasons. Get your kleenex ready ya’ll. Bout to be some serious binkies being sent away.

“Nightmare at One Patriot Place” - Just had a quick peek at the upcoming FA list and iof all years to be in need of a QB - OT - WR!! We used to have a guy who sounded like he was lifting man hole covers when spending dimes and nickels and now we’ve got a guy who’s ready, willing, and overly anxious to “burn some cash”. Unfortunately, this looks like a year to keep the matches away from our new head coach. I’ll try to keep the excitement to a minimum but Kirk Cousins is the #1 available QB and #2 rated FA and is being compared to Phillip Rivers. Just sayin, but given playoff records a much better comparison would be Andy Dalton. Now I’m prayin that the new HC doesn’t have any plans of “burnin” $35m+/year for another Andy D… More good news - did anyone realize (I sure didn’t) that of the 3 highest rated OT’s (all in the top-25 available players) are already on OUR team??!! Based on our O-Line play this year - “Who Knew”??!! Too bad from recent articles/rumors they both hate being on our team anyway. And now on to the WR’s. I’m sure you’ll be pleasantly surprised and shocked to hear that there are no highly rated Pat’s receivers in the bunch though I didn’t have time to search the entire 150 players! The top 4 WR’s are far better than any of our “resources” even though we do employ a “One Catch Wonder”, but I digress. Pittman and Higgins, who are the best players and choices will probably be franchised rather than “free”. Evans is closing in on 33 and from the game the other night has a tendency to drop a pass here or there - still our best bet moving forward as long as you consider 2 years at best - progress. And we can’t have a FA discussion without bringing up “OBJ”! With knees like these, why would we worry about drafting Michael Pennix??!! There is some good news in that there are LOTS of good players but mostly at positions (safeties, cb’s, edges) that are our “strengths” so maybe we should hide the matches, draft the BPA in each round to match our big 3 weaknesses (triple down if worthwhile), and spend a couple of bucks on a kicker while doing what all us Red Sox fans did growing up - “wait till next year” since it looks like “we’re on to 2025”!!
Not sure what you're talking about.

Needs:
QB1
WR1 (assume Parker/Douglas are WR2/3)
TE1
TE2
TE3
RB2 (Rham is RB1, the rest are not RB2)
RB-3rd down
LT
RT (Onwenu isn't a RT)
Swing T
FS (Winfield Jr please)
K

We're not filling all these holes via the draft. Kraft opening the check book is a must. He will. 100%

We have the very worst Offense in the NFL.
we have 3 of the top 10 OL's in free agency.
we have 3 of the top 10 TE's in free agency.
we also have one of the top RB's , one of the top15

With 32 teams competing for these players, how likely is it that we approve over what we had in 2023?
Lol, 100% likely. We ass.

Curiously, QB2, our starting QB for most if not all of the 2024 season, is my top need in free agency. All the top QB's in the draft need to develop for at least half a year, which is fine.

No, we aren't meeting all those needs in the draft. I see drafting 2 OT's, a QB and a RB in the first four rounds. (we will certainly take a shot or on WR's and OG later).
===========
FOR NOW, YOU ARE 100% RIGHT
We need to focus on what we can do in free agency. A reasonable goal is almost always to go into the draft not planning to count on more than one rookie. In a best case, we are ready to go, looking to improve through the draft with BPA's. More "normal" is to count on the draft for one or two positions. For example, this year I cannot see us failing to draft a Qb and OT in the first 40 picks.

Let's re-sign what we can of our free agents, sign Brissette and with trying to improve with a top addition or two.

No investment on defense please ... our offense is in doldrums. We need 2 OT, 2 TE and 1 WR and possibly 1 QB and also 1 running back or 2nd RB. After we are done with these we can think about defense especially CB.
Ultimately, the team needs talent of any form. And there’s a lot out in the market defensively this year.

I don’t think want us to neglect defense, but also no opposed to adding a couple defensive pieces if possible. Could really use another edge rusher.

We are adding Judon as an EDGE rusher.

Seriously, I don't understand why so many don't think that S is a high priority. We have Peppers and Phillips and Bledsoe. And I'm not sure how much Phillips has left in his tank.

But Judon is coming off of a season being injury, the depth is thin behind him.

Phillips is gone.

If not he’s target number 1.
I think he's attainable, we'll be targeting a #1.. and that player will likely get # money.. either Higgins, Pittman? Ridley likely will be attainable as well.. heck we could end up with Ridley and Pittman both?

I like that.. Gonzo has also been getting tips from WRs reportedly Steve Smith Sr. All 3 of those CBs are big, rangy CBs. I was really impressed with the CBs this season.
I was at the Pre-Season game at Lambeau when Bolden got injured and they cancelled the rest of the game. My friend is a Packers season ticket holder and I was on the 40 Yard line in the middle deck area. I also only live about 4 miles from Lambeau.

They'll want a QB to throw to them and an offensive line to protect said QB (which we need both anyway).
