Let's Go Chiefs! - Week 5 NFL Games Thread

Re: Let's Go Chiefs! - Week 5 Early NFL Games Thread

Why?

The Chiefs have Romeo Crennel as their defensive coordinator, through 5 games now getting his defense to play old Pats defense with stingy red zone defense and huge plays at the right time.

The Pats, on the other hand, have no coordinators on either side of the ball.

I'm not letting this thread get hijacked. I'll end it with, the Pats coach I see between series talking to all the young kids on D and instructing has five rings on his fingers for D.

Come on Cheifs, you have gone into the 4th quarter without giving up a TD. Just get 1 and you can win this.

Re: Let's Go Chiefs! - Week 5 Early NFL Games Thread

Indeed. But a lot of those guys are extremely young as well. A ton of credit needs to go to Romeo. Guy is just a great defensive coordinator. Took a defense that was horrible last year and turned it into a top notch unit.

Spot on that.

They're doing an amazing impression of our 2001-2003 teams.

Anyone wanna trade the randy moss pick for romeo crennel?

In all honesty, I'd trade all our picks. I'm comfortable with our personnel these days. The coaching? Bellichick aside, leaves something to be desired.

Re: Let's Go Chiefs! - Week 5 Early NFL Games Thread

With pretty much the same personnel last year except for Berry, the KC defense was awful all year. The Patriots defense is also loaded with 1st and 2nd round talent, but it isn't nearly as tight in the red zone or 3rd down as KC is.

Crennel is having a huge impact on this KC defense. He's showing just how big an impact a great coordinator can make on an entire team. Mike Nolan showed that too in Denver last year, Gregg Williams in New Orleans too last year.

Through 5 games the KC Chiefs defense will have given up only 12 points per game, with one of the stingiest red zone D's in the league.

Dorsey was in first first year playing in the 3-4... he is a lot better this year. Jackson was a rookie, and sucked, but he is playing much better. Johnson wasn't a starter, he was benched. No Berry too.

Listen, I'm not saying that Romeo isn't doing a good job. But lets give these players some credit, and not just praise the Coaching.

I hate how Manning takes forever to call a play. I mean Colts games must take at least 20 minutes longer than an average game.

Re: Let's Go Chiefs! - Week 5 Early NFL Games Thread

Can we stop talking about the "old pats"? That was 10 years ago

Re: Let's Go Chiefs! - Week 5 Early NFL Games Thread

Missed a hold on Saturday the play before, nice they finally got one...pathetic.

See, why do people here think coaching is EVERYTHING. It really baffles me.

Chiefs utilising just two down linemen quite a lot in the second half.

Manning throws another brick.

Romeo Crennel is really showing he is his own mastermind away from Belichick.

The Chiefs KC looks completely different from how it looked last year with almost the exact same players.

It makes me wish we actually had some good coordinators working for Belichick. Belichick can't do everything by himself.

Re: Let's Go Chiefs! - Week 5 Early NFL Games Thread

Loving the frustration on Manning's face.

Re: Let's Go Chiefs! - Week 5 Early NFL Games Thread

Keep shaking your head Manning, it's never your fault.

Re: Let's Go Chiefs! - Week 5 Early NFL Games Thread

Have I mentioned that I love see Manning frustrated?

Re: Let's Go Chiefs! - Week 5 Early NFL Games Thread

Cassel is horrible! CaN'T BELIEVE we got a 2nd for this turkey. BB flirted with disaster giving him the franchise tag...ended up very, very well.

Re: Let's Go Chiefs! - Week 5 Early NFL Games Thread

Cmon Patriots West offense...

I don't. But we have good players already. So why not pick up the coach that helped invent the Manning face. (I mean-- seeing it again is priceless, isn't it? How can a Pats fan not LOVE seeing it again.)

Re: Let's Go Chiefs! - Week 5 Early NFL Games Thread

Manning rating: 70.6

Romeo. Sigh.
