Lets add Vollmer to the pile: Week 17 Injury Watch

Mankins played Guard at a near Pro Bowl level with a torn ACL. I would hope a tackle can play well enough on an ankle sprain. Yes I understand that a guards job is to just stand still and block while a tackle needs to move more.

You must forget Mankins turnstile imitation in the sunspeakable game

Listen if edelman can go next week then i
am playing him 30 to 35 snaps. I can't believe people here think automatically this offense will start clicking once everyone's back for the divisional playoff game. Idk

brady said that would be wishful thinking.
let edelman play some snaps so he can get into some sort of rhythm

of course they hope its a sprain. same was said with dion..

as for richards, why was he a 2nd rounder again?

Garbage. Lafell needs to be benched as well. I rather see martin at this point

Listen, I am not sure drafting Richards in the second round was right. But the kid played decent considering we where missing Chung and McC.

It was not a great performance, but I thought all things considered on the back end, he played about as well as you can expect.

Let's not hold where he was drafted against him.

Hopefully a low ankle sprain, not high

Although this guy says even a high ankle sprain shouldn't keep him out:

Well, fingers crossed. It seems increasingly ridiculous, but the fact remains that as of now, there is still a chance this team is relatively healthy and complete come playoff time. Shocking but true.

Yup. Aside from a few (Lewis, Solder) they've dodged a ton of bullets for injuries

Just good that it appears that while the injuries keep piling up, yet another injury that appears like it just might be one that can be recovered from in a few weeks.

logan mankins would try to play.

if the jets could catch, richards was burned deep several times including at the end of regulation

A high ankle sprain doesn't affect a tackle like it does a WR. So this is good news.

He was burned twice. Let's not go overboard. Jesus, if your going to go after Richards, I would think it would be the troubles with his recognition in the run game. Which was more worrisome. And frankly A huge liability.

Understanding your frustration, but they play 2 entirely different roles, so it's likely that Martin would give way to Edelman/Amendola reps.

I believe they'll still try and line him up in some different looks, but he has been playing the slot for the most part. LaFell is more of an intermediate route runner, although Brady certainly didn't have any time to get him the ball lately with the struggles of the OL.

so next week rest amendola, hightower, and vollmer.

It will be interesting to see which one of the 2 WRs is considered to be healthy enough to play, at least for the first half or so.

I wouldn't rush to assume that it will definitely be Edelman.

Due to the shortness of the season remaining (including the Playoffs) if there isn't a tangible medical chance he can return for the AFCCG then I expect we'll see him IR'd quickly. If he isn't IR'd by Tuesday then I'll take that as a good sign. If he isn't IR'd on Wednesday then I'll take that to certainly mean the expectation is he will be back.
