That's right, I forgot about Tate in 2010. Of course it was only for a year though, so it's easy to forget.

Still don't agree with letting Hobbs go, I'd have rather tried to build around him as a CB2 or CB3, rather than outright trade him--but there's no use crying over spilled milk right?

He likes the Washington signing but thinks the Pats are cheap because they offered a better deal than Washington could get with the Jets and Gints.

I *think* the idea is that the Pats should only sign players to large contracts or they are cheap. The logic is kinda sound but ignores that with a cap, overspending on one player means less money for the others. With a $120 mil cap and a few expensive players (Brady, Wilfork to name just 2) it means that you simply cannot give the other 52 players $2 mil each.

There just isn't enough money under the cap. Fleger and some fans never understand that.

I will never understand why they traded him for a 5th round pick but it is what it is

Part of the reason that we have such poor play in the secondary is that we cut players that might have continued to help us: Meriweather, Sanders, Hobbs.

Of course, this has a tradition at least a decade old. Ten years ago.........

Re: Re: Leon Washington is back

Yeah that's what Miguel said as well, either way I still like the move.

When Washington was first released I was for it, after seeing some of the other players we've parade through this week I very much prefer Washington as the 53rd player.

Since we just guaranteed Washington $800K plus the bonus already given, I really doubt that he was even Player 53, although he was the last to come back.

I would expect that Develin, Barker and Kline are the bottom three, or in the bottom five with Beauharnais and White.

It cannot since Leon received a $360,000 signing bonus earlier this year.

    From the CBA
If the player's prior contract was terminated, he is eligible to sign a Qualifying
Contract if he does not earn more than maximum amount of Additional
Compensation less the amount of any Additional Compensation and/or guaranteed Salary earned during that League Year under the terminated years of his prior contract(s), but his combined compensation from the terminated contract(s) earned for that League Year and the Qualifying Contract cannot exceed the applicable minimum for that League Year plus the maximum amount of Additional Compensation
