Damn.

Can we all just agree that a Lakers Celtics Finals with Kyrie vs. Lebron would be the greatest finals ever?

I'm rather fond of the 1984 Finals, when the Super Dooper Fast Break Lakers were supposed to sweep us...and nearly did!! And that was pretty much the story in 1969, as well, with Wilt and all...But, yeah: That would be an awesome story line!!

Lakers is easily the best now. Really can’t argue anybody else.

You've got to be kidding me!!

If you want to talk about a franchise’s all-time team, you only get to include what they did when they were a member of that franchise. That’s why you never hear Shaq mentioned as a Celtics all-timer.

As such, any discussion putting LeBron in LA’s all time team is little more than a prediction at this point.

Lakers still have a lot of work if they want to catch the warriors. Do the warriors have the resources to make a minor move? If the lakers are gonna get Leonard they gonna have to include Ingram as a starting point.

Here's a fun exercise. Just add James (and Lance Stephenson andJaVale McGee) to the Lakers roster, and then move the Lakers into the East. Now, ask yourself where that team finishes. Remember that the Lakers won 35 games lat year, playing in the West.

James
Stephenson
McGee
Kuzma
Ingram
Ball
Caldwell-Pope
Hart
Wagner
Randle (Qualifying offer made, giving ROFR to the Lakers, so I'll leave him on the list for now)
Lopez (Reportedly likely to return, now, according to some, so I'll leave him on the list for now)

Randle doesn’t wanna return to the lakers. I read somewhere he wants out. It’s still filled with young players that likely will be shipped to the spurs for leonard.

Lebroni going to the lakers just mean that the kings will hopefully be even more terrible. Off course the pick has to not fall number 1.

While I've heard that about Randle, what he wants isn't relevant at the moment. At the moment, the Lakers can keep him, regardless of his wishes, so I've got him on the roster. It's just an exercise to point out both the weakness of the East and the theoretical impact of LeBron (The Lakers have moved from 20-1 to 7-2, and the Cavaliers have dropped from 30-1 to 500-1).

My guess is that most people would have the Lakers as the #2 choice to come out of the East, behind the Celtics.

Sure you can Celtics all time team better

1) Russell=GOAT
2) Bird
3) Garnett or McHale Take your pick
4) Irving
5)Havlicek
After Bird you could literally argue every single Lakers All Time Team member is better.

Magic/Kareem/Wilt/Kobe/Lebron are all better than Garnett or McHale. And I know we are all from Boston but that much shouldn't even be controversial.

Well nba finals or bust next season. I am hoping we get smart back even though he can’t shoot a lick. He can defend.

Although he did not show his age last season, have to wonder at the wisdom of signing a soon to be 34 year old for a 4 year max contract...

Unless Guerrero is shipping some of his "Fountain of Youth Juice" to him, have to wonder if he will start to "break down"....

As of right now. They’re not done making moves. They’re trying to snag Cousins and have shown interest in Leonard. But they’re still not better than Golden State, even with Cousins. They’d be vying with Houston for second in that conference.

The Lakers all time team would have a great bench.

On top of Jerry West, some have said Elgin Baylor, before the injuries, was the one of the best ever seen.

Kyrie is not higher than Sam Jones, Truth or Hondo.

I've been spending some time the last few weeks asking folks if they'd want LeBron here. I'm surprised at how few of them answered yes.

Did I really see a poster talking up the Lakers for having 7 of the top 10 players of all time, including LeBron, who has never played a second for them? That's crazy talk.

I can only imagine how much more dominant the C's would have been in the old days if Red could just add the best players to his roster.

When I first heard that LeBron was signed to a 4 year deal I didn't think he'd make it close to the end of that deal. Then I realized that it's 2018 and NBA players can rest while they play.

That is a fun exercise. I'd say 50, because the outcome is going to be a little less than the sum of these parts. James just won't have the energy to carry the team night after night through a regular season any more. We saw the beginning of that this past season.

The real question is how fast/well the youth matures. Again, I don't think James accelerates that at all, given how the game will need to center around him.

I think the Cleveland Cavaliers have the inside track on the #1 pick for next year. And probably for many years to come…

I'd put both JoJo White and Dennis Johnson ahead of Irving

I'd put Dave Cowens ahead of either McHale or Garnett

Russell
Bird
Havilcek
Cowens
White/Pierce

This is great! LeBron (the most obnoxious athlete who ever lived) is now irrelevant.
I don't see any scenario where the Lakers acquire enough talent in the next 3 years to seriously challenge GSW. LeBron is already showing signs of slowing down from age..
