Player Signing Lawrence Guy officially re-signs

I think we're going to see more 3 man fronts this year. The problem I see with Davis is his concussion issues. He had 3 last year in the time he spent with the Patriots. If he's out, the Pats don't have a replacement if Godchaux goes down.

Guy, Adams, Anderson, Cowart, Wise, and Spence is a very good set of DEs in a 3 man front. I think a NT will be take in the draft or a DT who can stand up to double-teams on a regular basis.

I honestly foresee them taking an sideline to sideline ILB who had the speed and agility to cover as well as the strength to stand in against the run.

I wouldn't mind Zaven Collins and Tyler Shelvin, but I don't think we get Collins if we go after a QB.

I'm still not convinced the Pats go after a QB.. I believe they've set themselves up to be as Flexible as possible in this draft in terms of being able to move around and get the guys they WANT.

That's exactly what they've done. It's brilliant.

Those would be tremendous additions. I like Collins a lot. Think he can be better than Parsons. Shelvin and Godchaux with Guy and Anderson at 3 T or three man front would be a huge early down defense. We might can afford to use Uche or Wino at LB more early with that front or a three man front.

So why was Bill in such a damn rush to sign under-achieving busts like Monty Adams & Carl Davis; ill-fitting relics like Hank Anderson; and to grotesquely - not grossly, but Grotesquely - overpay for stiffs like Dee Wise, before Guy officially signed elsewhere?

So we’re paying Wise double what we’re paying Guy? Man. Great deal though.
This was my first thought too. Is Wise better than I think he is?

Because Adams and Davis barely cost anything and may just be camp bodies; signing them is independent of signing players who will actually be expected to contribute. Anderson is probably better than most of the DL we had in 2020 (not saying much). I'm not crazy about that Wise deal either.

The market for age 30+ DL is pretty bad right now

Bb also must really like wise. Hopefully hasn’t hit his ceiling yet!
Yeah, Wise did quietly play 55% of snaps last year (up from 22% the year before). 70-80% in certain games, think the coaching staff is high on him and expecting improvement

Captain, so I'm guessing you like the Guy signing.

So what is Guy's Cap hit? Hate when they breakdown a contract but dont include the cap hit which is all i really care about as a fan

This is what keeps happening. Everybody's watching special binkies, urging "improve this skill position with this particular guy" etc., and nobody seems to get that the value concept keeps being true. Be able to make use of that best available philosophy, and you are never trapped by need, because that's what need is, a trap. The Buddha would have been a great GM. Attachment is an impediment. Need is an impediment.
