Key Players [Mac Jones/others] Isn't/Aren't Ready to Play

I named Uche, Strange, Rham and a few others.

Not ready to play.

Brady walk? Seriously? You're still on that?
Just so you youngins know, Sox fans talked about the Ruth trade for a half century.

And more top players than Brady have been shown the door.

I'll tell you what, there's only one group of people more annoying than the ones who want to pin every offensive failing on Mac Jones and it's those that have to hammer the "Mac's not at fault", "Mac's not why you lost" stuff over and over and over starting from the first five seconds after every loss. It's like Mac is always the same, he always does the very best he can on every play and everything that goes wrong is a failure around him. He was okay yesterday, he wasn't the reason they lost, but isn't he allowed to eventually be the reason they win one of those games? Why is diverting blame away from him so much of the focus? He was fine, he's not the only or the biggest problem they have on offense, I just wonder why we are never allowed to expect more than that. Yeah, he's better than Zach Wilson, he won't throw away the game. Then what?

He took the team on his back and did what with it? Lose 2 games? Mac had 3 chances in the 4th quarter to take the lead against the Eagles and failed all 3 times. Last night he mustered up a whole 17 points. At some point he will need to be the reason we win and not just a pat on the back and an "Oh well he wasn't the reason we lost".
This 100% Mac is getting way too much credit. He is not doing enough to win games, period. I know he is a nice guy and everyone except Calais Campbell loves him. Also for crying out loud the veteran WRs are coming up as small as the OL

Still don't get what?? That he throws off his back foot cowers at any sign of a fake blitz among other things?? Believe me I get it.
I am sure you get "cowering"

I don't fully blame Mac for being 0-2 or the offense's struggles but he definitely isn't doing what needs to be done to win games. I think this is just where Mac's physical limitations will get us. He doesn't have the skills to elevate those around him and those around him aren't that great.
What physical limitations? He completed 73% of his passes and rushed for 25 yards and had another good run taken away. If you guys can't see the O-line is the issue I don't know what to tell you.

He has a weak arm. Flat out. I know some on here will go to their deathbed (or until Mac is no longer a Patriot) believing his arm strength is fine but it is an issue. Throws outside the numbers take forever to get there and those lollipop lobs give the defense way too long to recover. Brady used to throw guys open with his accuracy and arm strength where Mac seems to throw open guys into coverage with how long the ball takes to get there. We can throw out all the stats and completion percentages we want but we are running a mainly horizontal offense right now because Mac can't really push the ball down the field and the receivers can't win one on one matchups.

When the game is on the line he is not making plays. 73% makes little difference ifvhe can not make the right decisions when he absolutely has to.

what more could he have done yesterday?

I haven't counted drops and I don't know what constitutes one in the crazy, whacky world of NYFL stats, but I see a lot of catchable balls not being caught by those veteran WRs.

It's still early of course, but I'm not too excited by their offense so far.

I can't believe some fans actually think you can win with a QB who can't throw outside the numbers. Fat Matt is laughing somewhere saying I told you all.

His lack of arm strength/talent is massive problem. EVERY throw takes forever to get there which also contributes to the WR having almost zero chance at YAC.

I’m not sure he’s laughing as he was out of his depth himself moonlighting as an OC.

They somehow rank 27th in air yards per completion and 20th in YAC per completion. There's often a tradeoff there between throwing the ball further upfield and getting less YAC and vice versa. They throw short and don't get YAC. The receivers don't get separation and he's not hitting guys in stride consistently enough.

They are averaging 4.1 yards per play and 4.9 yards per drop back, I feel like the amount of drives and opportunities the defense has provided them has made the perception of the offensive performance seem much better than it actually is. Those are paltry numbers. They averaged 5.8 yards per drop back and 5.3 yards per play last year. They've been demonstrably worse.

Hey the HC/GM gave him that made up job I would have taken it too with the perks and repercussions. Remember the talking heads knew that was going to blow up at the first mention of it.

A good part of it for Rhamondre is the offensive line. He does a lot of dancing though when he really needs to just try to quickly push and power through on short yardage.

Fat Matt would devour that thing like the green slime ghost in Ghostbusters.
What you can say is that Mac jones is an average QB with an average arm.
Add in the fact that he has below average weapons and we get what we're seeing now.

But, as most of us know, things can change real fast in the NYFL.

So you're blaming the wide recievers.
