Keshawn Martin Signed To 2 Year Extension

Agree, if Amendola doesn't take a big pay cut he will likely be gone and the team will replace his production with Martin.
Because of course Martin is a lock to come up clutch in the pressure of a Super Bowl.

I expect Amendola to be back, one way or another.

I was looking at the cap situation less than an hour ago, as I was comparing it to Denver's (they signed Wolfe to a 4 year extension). If the cap goes up significantly, as is believed, and if the couple of players I looked at are cut (I focused on Amendola, Mayo and Chandler, just to look at numbers), the Patriots could easily have more than $20m in cap space with almost no casualties.

All that money and not that many good FA's worth pursuing. Love it, resign all the boys, get them locked up long term, including Butler early, hopefully doing so gets a small home team discount.

Also I would love the team to swap Chandler for Ladarius Green. It would cost us a little more, but I think its a big upgrade.

Until he signs somewhere else, oh yes. Now if we can get DeAndre Smelter too then I'll be happy as a pig in....

Maybe we can somehow get him to talk some **** to Chip. Hell defiantly get all power trip chip and release him.

The Patriots have been looking for outside WRs who are legit threats since 2009.

Posters on patriots message boards have been looking for outside WR's who are legit threats since 2009.

On the other hand, the team has had one of the very best (if not the #1) passing offense in the NFL over this period.

And, yet, from Tate/Galloway to Lloyd to Johnson to doubling up in 2013 to LaFell and the many, many others, the team's still been trying to get that OWR since 2009.

Good signing on Keshawn.

I'd like the Patriots to draft a good TE. He would complement Gronk and be back to 2 TE sets more often.

So far, Chandler has been a letdown as a TE....

see ya later dobson.

Keshawn has clicked with Brady better this year than I would have expected. Provides a nice deep threat. The extension was a no brainer.

As a 5th WR we could do a hell of a lot worse. Guy seems to make at least 1 big play a game.

It is so funny. Volin is ALWAYS the last guy to the party on just about ever story.

It is like the Globe is paying him to the the guy who retweeets everyone else's story.

No mention of the Martin extension at all by the Herald so far but Volin is the last guy to mention it - smh.

I've liked what I've seen from Martin and suspect his days of being 'fifth' are numbered. I'm getting a sense that one day soon he could wind up being this decade's version of David Givens.

He did more than lafell today...seems to be good at snagging those deep balls

He's the third best WR on this team. Much more consistent than Lafail.
Martin had one catch today. Lafell has 37 receptions for 515 while martin had 24 catches for 269. And lafell had 953 yards on 74receptions last year. I know lafell hasn't played as well hoped he would but that doesn't mean Martin is better than him. I'm betting BB really likes the fact that Martin is a decent 4th or 5th option and obviously his return abilities give him extra value on Special teams.
