Kerry Byrne's take on Pats-Ravens

Exactly.

Ravensgamer's argument is beyond dumb. And I can't believe that guy is fine with Washington and Webb as their "two best CB's". The Ravens don't have many weaknesses, but their secondary is a glaring one to say the least (which Ravensgamer is in absolute denial over).

We'll definitely find out tomorrow.

Again with the nonsense. You play who's on your schedule.

Let's take a look at who the Pats have played:
An overated Bengal team. (Who we inexpicably lost too )
A jets team who blew you all out.
An obviously weak Bills team who destroyed your secondary.
A Miami team whose special teams were historicaly bad.

If our schedule of 4 out of 6 on the road is ubder scrutiny, so should yours.

Only difference (if you've been paying any attention whatsoever) is that we are not claiming that our Defense is any good. We've already discounted our defense as a weakness to be overcome by other facets of the team.

The subject was about your "#1" defense. You rely on your Defense.

Any Given Sunday. as evidenced by the differing results of our two teams against the Jets and Bengals.

Like I said, you play who is on the schedule. If the rankings show the Ravens with the #2 passing defense, then that's what it is.

You would think the Ravens defense would have a track record by now of being ranked in the top 5 every year.

If Tom Brady goes out and destroys our defense, it's because Tom Brady is the best, coolest QB in the league. Not because we are bad.

Sorry. It wasn't intended to hurt the Ravens D feelings.

It's not just Brady, though. That D has faced only ONE QB who can get it down the field - - and they lost to him even though he's a shell of his former self.

I'm not sure who wins this game, the Pats might and the Ravens might. If the Ravens do, it won't be because of their D shutting down Brady, that won't be happening today with that secondary. It would be because of our D getting run over by your running game.

Uninformative yet again. We lost to the Bengals because the Ravens QB had the worst game of his career by throwing 3 picks and we played a short week on the road against a division foe. Not because Carson Palmer lit us up. Check the stats.

Everytime the Ravens win, it's because of something.
- Sanchez was hand cuffed.
-Cleveland sucks.
-Pittsburgh was without Rothlisberger.
-Denver has no running game.

Must I remind everyone that the Ravens don't have thier starting right tackle, all world Free Safety, and starting corner. We've won 4 games. 3 of which were on the road. 2 of which were against excellent defenses.

I would never downgrade an opponent to make my team look better and neither should you. If your team wins it's because you were better that day and vice-versa.

Evidently you read only what you wanted to read from my post. I wrote very clearly:

"I'm not sure who wins this game, the Pats might and the Ravens might. If the Ravens do, it won't be because of their D shutting down Brady, that won't be happening today with that secondary. It would be because of our D getting run over by your running game."

That's not "downgrading an opponent".

Further, I wrote in the post previous to that: "Any Given Sunday, as evidenced by the differing results of our two teams against the Jets and Bengals."

So if you're working youself up into a lather about any of that, you're doing it on your own and arguing against voices in your own head.

Not the "weak secondary" stuff again. They've cut way back on their blitz frequency, they have only a few sacks, yet they're ranked #2 in the NFL against the pass. And if Orton hadn't racked up a bunch of garbage yards in the last 1:30 last Sunday, they'd be #1. The DB's were practically in the Broncos' pockets last week. So how are they doing this with a "weak secondary? Smoke and mirrors?

Don't parrot the clueless "commentators" who've been ragging on the Ravens' secondary since training camp, before their two best corners (Washington and Webb) had come back from injuries. The Ravens' weakness against the pass is their linebackers, not their DB's. Your tight ends need to have a big game tomorrow.

You guys are not second against the pass, you're 13th.

Beyond dumb? Your argument seems to be, "They've only shut down bad QB's, so they must be bad". What evidence do you have for this "glaring weakness"? Any at all? It's entirely possible that Brady could light these guys up today, but they've performed well so far. Aside from your half-baked opinion, tell me why someone who's watched them play for a year and a half is in "absolute denial".

That game was won by the Bengals' defense. Their offense scored no touchdowns, even though they started five drives in Ravens territory, and Palmer completed less than 50% of his passes for only 167 yards. That's your proof that the secondary is bad? Seriously?

Flacco struggles on the road, the game is in Foxborough

Yardage is an idiotic way to rank pass defenses.

And QB rating is a better way?

Flacco does struggle a bit on the road. Hopefully he shows up well today.

Flacco struggles when teams can drop seven into coverage and still get pressure. Doesn't matter where the game is being played.
Damn..........But i think that goes for any QB

This guy, Kerry Byrne, was almost flawless in calling Pats 21 -20 over Ravens. Good pre-game analysis and prediction.
