@Palm Beach Pats Fan beat me to it.... that 70x replication rate is eye popping.

So far, yes, everything we know points to (please god please god please god) it being really mild. But you'll note the prayer. I don't see any reason we can't hope for that outcome. Then we can stop being at each others' throats, unless we really want to be, at least about that.

And I *hope* we can get all the way through this season without cardboard fans... but I don't know what we're gonna do if it's NOT incredibly mild. I think everybody's just throwing up their hands about the spread and counting on the vaccine.

So let me explain how the PCR test works - it basically takes the sample, converts the RNA to DNA, and runs through a bunch of cycles, doubling the amount of DNA each cycle until a specific DNA sequence can be detected. If that happens quickly - say 20 cycles (or a CT count of 20) there is a lot of virus. But if it takes 30 cycles (10 more doublings) it means there was 1,000 times less virus. So the issue here is after an infection some amount of virus can be detected for many weeks at a high enough CT count (like 32). So you have to set some upper limit for saying the person is no longer infectious. It's not disclosed what that upper limit is for the NFL, but I'm guessing it is a bit less than 30 - maybe something like 28.

For the previous strains, if you were vaccinated, then the viral load drops much more quickly, and you would likely test negative some days sooner than for an unvaccinated infection. It's still unknown if the same will be true for Omicron. I'd guess still some effect, but less than before.

Cole Beasely has announced that he is playing against the Patriots, even though he’s not eligible to play. In unrelated news I will be purchasing the state of Vermont as a summer home.

Meyers and Bourne with a 2 TE offense would be a good set up against the Bills, especially if Harris is available.

Even though he said the above you can count on organizational shill Ivan to ignore this entirely and go after anyone who criticizes the Pats. Dumbest game plan against the Bills, NKeal Harry with 95% of snaps. But Ivan is an organizational shill.

There are too many posts on this board where posters are displaying enmity against fellow posters that would be better utilized against the JEST.

Agree. Follow the history, it's Ivan being a clown. I'm merely responding.

I want BB to wing another ring, not a fan of shills biased to defend multiple bad losses or broader problems.
