Just curious - Why isn't Amendola returning punts?

From what I saw, Amendola wasn't returning punts. He "safe caught" everything. Even when he had miles to run and noone around him, he did a safe catch. It seemed the explicit instructions from Belichick were that he doesn't want anymore special team disasters and he just sent Amendola in to safe catch it and Amendola won't be at risk either. Ofcourse this lowers are punt return potential but it seems that has dropped in priority.

if you are referring to the punt with 2 minutes left, you WANT that ball fair caught. At this point I'll take Amendola making fair catches over ridiculous "look at me!!!!" rookie mistakes.
