Thought this breakdown of Uche from Dan Hatman was excellent...
Jennings will be the new Van Noy and Uche the new Collins.
These are nice cliches but what do you mean (specifically?
HOW do you know this?
If are questioning a man's intelligence, you need be able to defend your statement with facts
You write "Don Brown knows what he’s doing." There are many Michigan fans who would disagree with you.
I think winovich replaces van noy.
Bentley will get a lot of Collins snaps too.
They're different players, with different responsibilities.
No 2 players are the same.
Path to Pats for versatile Michigan LB Josh Uche began with Belichick recommendation – Boston Herald
"According to a league source, had the Patriots failed to trade up for Uche, he would have been taken by one of the teams that owned the next three picks after 60th overall; the Titans, Packers or Chiefs."
How can this be? I was assured by multiple Patsfans.com members that Uche was example of Belichick reaching again for a player that would have otherwise been drafted in the third round and those people are never wrong (just ask them). They don't need evidence or sources, they just KNOW that their views are facts. To borrow from George Costanza....It's not total bullsh*t, if you believe it.
The Director of the Senior Bowl said he was the best defensive player there, period. Hard to believe he can’t defend the run with that kind of characterization from someone who sees that many top prospects.
Yep we're all doing lots of wishful thinking, positive and negative. Hypotheticals about where someone would have been taken later are particularly fun because they're nearly totally speculative and hence provide enormous room for argument and trolling.
I particularly love the argument that even if a "reach" works out it doesn't excuse the loss in draft position the imagined later but optimal pick would have saved.
My favorite counter example: Tom Brady would certainly have been a reach if he were picked in (say) the 4th round of the 2000 draft, because we know he was available at 199.
Really? And maybe we could have had him for a 7th.
Wrong, but thanks for playing...Please collect your parting gifts on the way out...
I believe belichick is quoted as saying that if they knew brady would be brady they would have taken him in the first round
While there are a number of draftniks on this site who have been idiots for years I will also grant that the ones who are good may be some of the better draft analyzers on the internet, especially where the Patriots are concerned. The draft forum here s overall very good, and I doubt there is a better fan board site on the internet. BGC has really stood out in recent years, but there are a good number of others who are really knowledgeable as well.
That was a great vid. Thanks for sharing Gator!
He said something like that. He also said that Brady was the best player left on their board a couple of rounds before they took him.
Patriots getting ‘elite pass rusher’ in Michigan OLB ‘gym rat’ Josh Uche
The 1st round pick in the 2000 draft was compensation for Belichick's hiring so something's messed up with that quote.
But ya think that Brady should have gone higher than 199? Would have been the best reach of all time.
