Patriots Player Departure Josh Uche traded to Chiefs for 2026 6th

Really?

Thunder has a natural tendency to hoard cash.
Wolf's "The Packer Way" philosophy leans heavily on the draft.
Kraft Group business principles are en vogue in Foxborough.
Mayo's "Ready to burn some cash" declaration earlier in the year was immediately walked back.

Assuming the team will deviate from its DNA is presumptuous.
Think I saw with the roll over they have something like 147 million in cap space this offseason. Could be more with some cuts etc.

I agree, if they get comp picks in 2026, I'd be disappointed in there free agent spending. Uche is having a down year and only signed for 3 million. He's not getting big money, and his role is unlikely to be full time on the new team. NFL Insiders reported before the trade a 6th is all they'd get for Uche and since the 2026 draft is looking way better than 2025 I'd rather wait a year anyways.

Patriots free agents in 2025 at linh and very few would be compensatory picks:

If they don't sign more than that in 2025 off season, I'd be shocked.

BB is just going to trash the Pats regardless of reality. He's biased and his opinion on the Pats is just not based on a fair view of things.
Our 2025 Free Agents.

Not sure why people think we're the Oakland A's all of a sudden. After another season under .500 and a very restless fanbase I expect they'll spend like they did in 2021. Even if they don't necessarily use all their cash right now.

In 2021, we traded Stephon Gilmore for a 2023 6th round pick.

In 2023, we drafted Kayshon Boutte with that pick.

Just saying that those draft picks do work out sometimes.....it is something for nothing. Uche deserved to go to a winner, we weren't gonna back up the Brinks truck for him in March.
Maybe the days of getting 12 1/2 sacks were over with us because last year Judon got hurt and this year we traded him. A player picked in the 2nd round strikes me as someone who should be capable due to his own abilities and not benefit *that* much from another player. But KC knows that and its why they gave up a 6 th rounder for a relatively young 2nd rounder. They also know their front 7 will “protecf” him more and wouldn’t be surprised if he gets close to 10 sacks the rest of the year. WE should have held out for more - I would have tied Thornton to him and insisted on a 4th rounder for both of them and kept Uche the rest if the year if they wouldn’t anti up. “Bidness is bidness” and giving away young players with “some” potential is “bad bidness”….

In 2020, Bill let Brady walk.

In 2021, Bill drafted Ronnie Perkins with that pick.

What a landing spot for him to rotate in on the best defense in the NFL.

The future draft pick reminds me of the Seymour trade in 2009 for 2011 1st round pick. That was idiotic.

Did a quick look at 6th rounders from 2011 - 2022. Here’s a look at “The Good, The Bad, and The Who?”:

Chasen Hines. Mike Onwenu

Sam Roberts. Braxton Berrios

Kevin Harris. Ted Karras

William Sherman. Nate Ebner

Joshua Bledsoe

Cash Malula

Justin Herron

Christian Sam

Connor McDermott

Josh Caraway

Elandon Roberts

Matthew Wells

A.J. Derby

Zach Moore

Jon Halapio

Jamea Thomas

Markell Carter

He’s got a place on that defense. They most certainly are not going to let him him set the edge because he just can’t. Spagnola will probably set him up in a small but successful role and he’ll chip in some pass tush ability when ready.

Tbh, if Barmore were still here, there would of been a role for him on this team as well.

Not sure where you are going with this comparison.

Who is going to beat them?

Just landed Hopkins with Rice back for the playoffs. Pacheco will be back paired with Kareem Hunt. Kelce is saving his strength for the post season.

So which play does Uche make to send KC to the Superbowl again? Tackle, sack, strip sack, fumble/recovery, int? Should we make a poll?
Int returned for a td … heard it here first!!

I swear the Chiefs roster looks just like how our rosters of the winning era looked.. not start studded but good players who excel in thier positions.
Can’t win super bowls like that !!! You need first round picks across the board !! Good players only get you a .500 record … even with the best coaching !! Everyone knows this

KC is winning anyway.

3 in a row and 20 - 0.
Maybe the Chiefs’ media has their own Jon Tomase who will sabotage their perfect season attempt and threaten them with a congressional investigation on the eve of the SuperBowl.

Nah, that is just a Boston sports media thing.
