Cousins,
"Cincinnati Bengals left tackle Jonah Williams has requested a trade following the acquisition of Orlando Brown in free agency, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport."
The Bengals have asked him to switch to the right side. He has said.....Nyet

He is on his final year of his college contract. The Pats had interest in him at the Tide.

"Williams, a former first-round draft pick for the Bengals in 2019, was going to have to move to right tackle when the team signed Brown in free agency. Brown wouldn't have agreed to a deal with the Bengals if it wasn't to play left tackle. This is the main reason why the Kansas City Chiefs opted to move on from Brown because they wanted him to move to right tackle and he wasn't interested in doing so".
Well this makes "the cheese more binding" Cousins.

LT is still a priority here. He did not have a stellar 2022 even though he only had 4 penalties (he had 12 sacks) but in 2021 the Bengals Super Bowl year he was extremely good.

In 2021 "PFF has Jonah Williams tied for 4th amongst left tackles in pass block efficiency (98.3%). Jonah's 3 total pressures is the fewest of all OTs that have played 50% of the snaps. Oh and his Run Block Grade is 10th highest.".

BB.....Now while the iron is hot? #46 plus Trent Brown who plays a better RT? William's is young and stays healthy. Saban says he was his best player that year. Then the Pats need to re-up this kid and he's your long-term LT.

There was only talk of him moving to RT because his salary is guaranteed so there’s no benefit to cutting him. Bengals fans seem content to give him away in a trade if it means they can dump his entire guaranteed salary.

Isn’t he terrible?
Let's see last two years SB appearance plus AFC-CGame he also erased Matthew Judon when we plays them yeah I think he sucks.

…did you see Joe Burrow running for his life literally every snap in every playoff game the last TWO years?

Jonah’s missed a decent amount of those games though. I think he’s actually been relatively good when healthy.

Health is his big issue. And that’s more of my issue with him too.

Well they wasn't going to beat that Rams Team and they had the ball late to beat KC and blew it that's on the Offense.

Ben Muth at FO has had a few articles on Bengals line this year and he has raised Williams as a big issue. Thinks he lacks the athleticism needed to be a great LT. whether that’s been due to some recent knee injuries I’m not sure.

What's the old saying one man's trash is another's Treasure. Jonah Williams couldn't be any worse that what we had last year a both Tackle spots.

He's on a fully guaranteed 5th year option at $12M so trade comp needs to be pretty low. The acquiring team either needs to be comfortable with him as a flyer for one year at a semi-high cost before he leaves next year, or needs to give him an extension immediately before they've spent any time with him at all to drop his cap hit.

No need for another LT -> RT sulking tour ala Isaiah Wynn last year.

Klemm is having a camp for OT's. It may take awhile to find the right mix. I could see us draft 2 LT's and 2 CB's with our first four picks. [we can get out safety in free agency]

a 2nd is too rich. swap 2nds and a forth. There is a reason cinci is moving on. He is an aveage LT on an expring deal.

If the cost of acquisition is cheap... how about a 4th round flyer to see if this Jonah person can play LT for us? Or is the preference still to go into the draft to find that starting LT?

There was a poster early who mentioned his 2021 season stats were MUCH better than this year. Can anyone confirm this and if true come up with a reason why there was such a drop off this season
