2019 draft class is looking like a slam dunk so far, no?
Grading the 2019 draft
1st #32 - Harry - C - He deserves a D. A good player constantly injured is the same as a terrible player available for 16 games.
2nd #45 -Williams -D - Was a C+ and seemed worth keeping.
3rd #77 - Winovich - A - Chase delivered. 5.5 sacks, 4 TFL, 10 QB hIts.
3rd #87 - Harris -D - A 3rd round pick should at least contribute something. Furthermore, his pick could have been used on another WR or a TE which were/are huge needs.
3rd #101 - Cajuste - F
4th #118 - Frohbolt -F - I wish BB would hold a public raffle $100 per ticket and the winner gets to pick a player in the upcoming draft. The fan would have guidelines of course, but he or she would have the final say and over rule BB. A compensatory 4th or 5th. Let a Fan buy some groceries.
4th #133 - Stidham - C - There is not much to grade either way.
5th #159 - Cowart - C - Depth and a project.
5th #163 - Bailey - A - Seamless transition. Did his job well.
7th #252 - Webster - N/A
Not if you listen to @Deus Irae , @PatsFan2 , @captain stone , or @FCB02062 or a host of others.. They all say it sucks and is only getting worse..
Any rational observer knows it takes at least two seasons to even begin assessing a draft class.
I still think it’s too early to judge but it isn’t looking too good out of the gates. I’m hoping Harry’s issues are related to the fact that he missed a lot of the season and, thus, didn’t get a chance to learn to use his body more to create separation. But it’s alarming that he had to make circus catches in college because he was frequently blanketed in man and had trouble getting loose so far in the NFL. We will see.
It's absolutely braindead that this thread has turned into an official "#33 is a bust" event when he was stuck behind one of the most stacked position groups in football the only season he's played, and wasn't bad when he did get on the field. Criticize him for the arrest, sure, but his draft grade can't be anything other than "incomplete" right now.
I don't have a great feeling about Harry's ceiling as a traditional WR. The route running has never been there. He's a very nice gadget player like Patterson, but I don't know if he'll be more than that.
My guess would be that it was Adderall.
I hope you’re wrong because that would be a disgraceful use of a first round pick given the early returns on other WRs in that draft class.
Legend Drugs are throwback drugs and are really cool. The officer is dope for the shutout.
Is this the first time that Williams has gotten in trouble? Will he get a fine and community service like Chung?
Chung basically got the charges dropped, it is a common practice for minor first time offenders they usually call it "nolle pros" short for the latin, "Nolle Prosequi" which translates to "will no longer prosecute".
So once Chung completes his period of supervision the charges against him will be dismissed. He will not have a criminal conviction of any kind.
As for Williams...
It is still unknown what type of drugs he had on him, certainly I doubt they arrested him for having a joint and a clip, it must have been something a little bit more (unless he was an asshat when he got pulled over). During a traffic stop, cops can confiscate any illegal things they see "in plain view" which means that they can't just roam through your pockets looking for stuff if they pull you over for speeding. On the other hand, if they can articulate "reasonable suspicion" (i.e. the car smell like pot, or the driver seemed incoherent) then they can expand the scope of the traffic stop.
It will all depend on what drugs they did find, and then he should get Kraft's lawyers and attempt to get said evidence suppressed due to an unreasonable search and seizure.
I hated this pick from the get go. When guys like WR Mecole Hardman (going to the pro bowl as a returner, which we DESPERATELY needed, explosiveness), and DK Metcalf (top rated receiver, rated higher than Harry by EVERYONE except the Pats), who is ridiculously explosive are available, and you trade up for SlowJuan Williams, just infuriating. I said it now, said it all season. BAD pick. 2019 draft sucked.
Williams will be suspended, but really, who cares ?
preseason: 201 snaps 12 targets 3 receptions 39.6 rating
regular season: 65 snaps 4 targets 2 receptions 67.7 rating
Criticize BB for drafting a corner in the top 50 when he had arguably four top 25 CBs in the NFL on the roster already but early indication is Williams can play. He was great in the preseason & then proceeded to not be thrown at in limited action in the regular season (came up big against the Bills).
I read somewhere that that's a complicated procedure often requiring months of rehab afterward.
I sense slight sarcasm in this post.
As pointed out on Twitter, TN defines "legend drugs" as drugs that can only be prescribed by a physician (e.g., Adderall, Xanax, etc.).
Methinks you may have missed a key literary component of the post you're replying to here. Google, "sarcasm," when you get a minute.
Hope he pulls through okay. Because that boy looked SLOOOOOOOW.
The amazing part isn't just that he did that, but he traded up to do it.
