That doesn’t seem to be the impression of him at Cowboys camp.
Their fans here seem to give him mixed reviews. Some very positive, some meh.

Some of them still think he can't read defenses. No way he'd fit in a Josh offense or most NFL offenses if that's still a problem.

If he always sucked that didn't stop your hoodied hero from using a first round pick to draft him anyway...then cutting a former MVP QB so the guy who always sucked could start. Weird huh?
“Ownership, coaching and scouts must be on the same page in order to be successful” and he had that up until about the last four years in New England.”

The owners “took back” the team in 2021, collaboration is what we saw since. Multiple sources say Bill didn’t want Mac, also said he wanted to trade him by year two. Sucks for you…

Nope, Jones was BB's boy and the lack of good coaching Jones got is entirely on him.

I don't care what he does at Dallas, was just glad to see the back of him. He was toxic Besides as was proved against Washington Joshua Dobbs looks like being a good backup.

Dobbs looks like he could be a rich man's Jacoby

Yup that suits the kind of coaching the Patriots had in 22-23... Jones and Zappe for that matter never had a chance.
That's not the story that guys like Dugger and White tell. They appreciated the coaching they got. Others decided to throw a hissy fit over Matty P and instead chose not to take the coaching they were getting and some even decided to go outside the team.

And don't get me wrong I'm not trying to defend choosing Matty P I'm just saying that the way some of these guys responded to it tanked their own career as much if not more than Matty P did/would have.

His mechanics absolutely suck. One cause of that is failed coaching, which he had on the Patriots from 2022-23.
Speaking of non Mac mechanics, here's what Milton's new coach has to say about it:

“It’s fun because people don’t know this, Joe’s kind of a nerd when it comes to throwing mechanics, in a good way,” Schottenheimer told reporters Sunday. “That’s not a bad thing. He’s very well-coached, and he understands mechanics. I love when he gives Dak little corrections, like, ‘Hey, watch your front shoulder there,’ and Dak’s like, ‘Yeah, I see it.’ It’s really cool.”

As far as reading defenses is concerned, I mentioned this way back during the pre draft, but Phil Simms watched him extensively and thought he was pretty good and improved throughout his last (and only full) year of starting in college. He's a smart dude (graduated in 3 years). Hoping to see Milton versus Maye in the Super Bowl one day.

Regarding this "not a good dude" bs that was probably made up. After he got injured, the guy ended up a backup for Hendon and gave him his full support and helped him and his team to succeed. Guy just wanted a chance to compete, and that wasn't happening, especially since even "2 QBs" Kraft was already well into the QB controversy.

I think most here aren’t necessarily saying he can’t play or anything….he’s definitely got the tools but he also has that one thing that can tank a locker room and that’s a ****ty attitude. He’s not even out of his rookie contract and I’ve read he’s a cancer already so…nothing but well wishes for him and “America’s team”….i never understood that btw…why are they “America’s team”? Because someone thought all Americans were cow pokes from tx? Then again only steers and queers come from tx…

Our drill instructors still used that line on those recruits from TX during boot camp!

Heh. Former MVP. That's a hoot. How dare they cut the guy who threw for 8 TDs in 15 games the previous season.

I don’t understand the hate the guy gets either. Whether he will succeed at the next level has yet to be seen but him being competitive and wanting to try to make a play for starting QB and from all reports rocking the boat with Maye because of that is ridiculous….Either way he was fun to watch, seemed like a good guy and teammate overall and I wish him well in whatever he does going forward

My concern is that the 'issue' it caused, was putting pressure on Drake Maye by his back-up, and the one thing Vrabel did was clear the deck for him. That's nothing more than coddling, and I hate that ****.

Drake Maye won one game last year. His overall performance was 'ok'. He showed flashes, sure, but it's not like he had some Justin Herbert rookie year. Everyone's completely sold on Maye, and I'm a Patriots fan, so I'll support him, but I'm not going to run interference for him either, I got sucked into that with McCorkle.

It had better be the right move, is all I'm saying. If in 3 years Milton's getting MVP votes and we're wondering if we're going to pick up Maye's option or not, it will be disaster.

I totally get that it very much looks like Maye could be getting coddled which it may or may not be. Appearances are everything these days. Without being a fly on the wall or in the locker room, all we get to do is make assumptions on what went on. Kinda like the Butler benching…

He started the Cows preseason game. He has not covered himself in glory on his first drive.
