Former Patriots QBs in preseason week 1:
Joe Milton 17-29 143 yards 1 TD 1 Int
Mac Jones 4-7 74 yards 1 int
Jarrett Stidham 14-15 136 yards 2 TD
Bailey Zappe 8-17 70 yards 2 int

Wow Stiddy really wants a starting job!
Almost forgot Patriots legend Jacoby Brissett in his first game as a Cardinal: 5-8 81 yards 2 TD.

Well, we all know what an absolute football genius Jerry is.
True, though apparently Jerry is a marketing genius.

How else to explain how the Cowboys are on primetime or exclusive 4:30 nationwide television broadcasts, week after week, year after year - despite the fact that they have not advanced further than a divisional round playoff loss in 30 years?!!!!

Once again, in 2025 no other team - not even either of the two that went to the super bowl six months ago - will be broadcast in primetime/4:30 games more often than your 10-loss Dallas Cowboys.

Just finished watching JM3 at Dallas - Holy Crap he looked bad. Way worse than last preseason. Where was this guy during the Bills game when he completed his 1st 10 in a row or something like that? He prob would still be on the Pats with little hope of being a starter after that crap show.... and he was my draft Beankie. I still think he'll succeed eventually, but wow that sucked... Tebow-esque... I don't think I've seen him that overwhelmingly bad his entire last college season.

Bet Jerry has stopped pinching his self.

I realize there's a lot of experts here that know way more than me, but Joe Milton maybe, just maybe, isn't that good. Six years in college, couldn't break thru in Michigan, transferred to Tenn., had one decent year. After six years in college.

Six years of college down the drain.

Then the guy has once decent game that the Bills tried to lose to screw a division rival out of the #1 overall pick, and all of a sudden everyone is hand wringing that he's not here anymore? Dude has a cannon for an arm... that's it.

You'd think that some of the folks here would know after watching not the greatest athlete ever become the Greatest Football Player Of All Time that there's more to being a QB besides athleticism. But all y'all keep falling in love with them.

To all the Milton Lovers
Watched him vs Rams
He SUCKS
Reason he got drafted late and we gave up on him
Wild throws. Throwing into tight windows. No touch
I’m sure he thought he was all that and a big bag of chips

He had a decent preseason last year so, naturally, this forum went bonkers. “We will get a first rounder for him!!” said they.

It was nothing but a mirage that fooled the usual crowd.

It'll be a little embarrassing if Milton turns out to be really good, but I'm not gonna obsess about it. As for surpassing Dak Prescott as starter, I really don't think that's all that difficult a task. He's not really all that good on a consistent basis, is he?

Well, for what it's worth, he has a better career passer rating by a smidge. 97.9 vs 98.1.

Almost forgot Patriots legend Jacoby Brissett in his first game as a Cardinal: 5-8 81 yards 2 TD.
Admirable efficiency to get 2TDs on 5 of 8 for 81 yards of passing, right?

Because the Bills weren’t trying and those Rams are playing for a job
That's not it. He was playing against 5 defensive Bills starters at times with a 3rd string Oline. He missed soooo many guys who were wiiiiiiiide open with very little pressure. Literally Johnny from Foxborough High could make those throws... maybe even the little bro Joey in Middle School. Dude drank too much Red Bull or something. I had watched all his college snaps, so I was familiar with his (true as opposed to Paul Bunyan-esque myth like) accuracy.

It's clear why Milton was traded if the reports were true. It's toxic for the locker room when you have an inferior player drafted late complaining to management he should be starting over the just drafted 3rd overall pick. The guy doesn't understand office politics.

Mayo knew he was getting fired before the game or else he would've put handcuffs on Milton. They were way too aggressive the entire game.

I would add that he was most likely being an ******* in the QB room, or they felt he was going to be a problem there. Mac Jones was such an ******* when he lost his starting job that Zappe had to go watch film elsewhere in the building, and you really don’t want that kind of shot going on.

Stidham actually was a decent prospect better than Mac. Unfortunately Bill just did not have faith in him.

Yep; Stiddy should've started the last game of the 2020 season, but screw the best interests of the T-E-A-M, Little Bill had a record to catch...
