I keep telling people as a UT fan, he flashes at times. However, he is 25 and played college ball for 6 years. There is PLENTY of film and history on his play. Inconsistent and a gunslinger, inaccurate at times and does not have a touch for shorter passes. When he is on, he’s a freak.

So he beat out Will Grier. We should slow it down on the praise. He wasn't good in college and just because he played well in a game the other team did not want to win does not replace his 6 years of mediocrity in college.

It wasn't a game the other team didn't want to win. It was a game the other team actively tried to lose. I think it's an important distinction.

Their whole sideline was laughing and shaking their heads at every good Pats play. They couldn't believe Mayo's sideline intensity-- it was as confusing to them as it was to us.
