In the Starting Line-Up
Zach becoming a team leader? Yeah, that's going to end well.

Before the game, Wilson was "totally different" than last year and had "renewed confidence." Aside from the media running with info fed to them from Wilson's agent or the Jets, what evidence of this huge improvement was there? Since acquiring Rodgers in April, Wilson was either going to be a backup or dealt to another team. In training camp and the preseason, Rodgers would have been getting the majority of work with the first team. Could it be that Wilson looked sharp in the preseason games? He should, though, considering he was the #2 overall pick with 2 years starting experience playing against backups guys on the roster bubble. It's certainly possible that Wilson was more relaxed since Rodgers would be the starter and all the pressure to direct the offense wasn't on him. I'm not sure that translates to "He'll be great if he has to start some games," though. Of course, this narrative of confidence and improvement went out the window when Wilson actually had to start a regular season game.

None. Peter Schrager is a 24 hour a day walking/talking NFL infomercial. He hasn't seen a boot he won't lick.

Jete GM should have traded him and brought in a more reliable backup, but didn't because he didn't want to look like he made a huge mistake.

The same guy dumped Darnold without sweating it, because that was the last regime's squandered 1st round QB pick, not his.

Pretty clearly putting old man Ahole behind that crap OL meant an injury was probable, so now he's made two huge mistakes.

All quite plausible. It does seem he doesn't respond well to pressure. The two picks Punky threw in the 4th quarter yesterday were RIGHT AT Cowboys players. It's hard to do that unless you've mentally shut down, and pressure is one way that happens.

The thing with Punky is he HAS won games and DOES have ability. He just is immature, undisciplined and can't seem to drop the gunslinger approach, which has been a real double-edged sword. It wouldn't at all surprise me to see him put together some good efforts including against the Patriots, with players like Breece Hall and Garrett Wilson elevating his game. It'll be interesting to see what the Pats defense has cooked up for him. I just hope Jonathan Jones is back on the field and the rush can get him on the run, which is where he tends to wing it and get in trouble.

Jets are 1-1 with their starting QB Arron Rodgers out for the season and Zack Wilson the backup playing.. The Patriots are 0-2 with their starting QB Mac Jones playing.

I am not sure who sucks but statistically, the answer is the Patriots with Mac Jones

No, you're wrong. Jones thus far has statistically been superior to McMilfson. Just a reminder, friend: this is NOT the thread to rag on the Patriots or any of their players or to "be fair" to the Jete.

Pretty sure Schrager is a Jets fan. I don't hate the guy or anything but he always comes off as a wannabe insider and kind of a doofus. Always loves to go with the "What I am hearing out of so and so's camp" and other vague nonsense that doesn't really mean much.
