Technically a 5 year deal (where he only plays 2 and gets paid all 5.)
Thanks for the clarification. Sorry that I was editing the post as you were responding, changed it back to the original contents so I would not take us too far off topic.

Incorrect again.
You back here front runner. Your dissapeared after your savior Puncky crashed and burned. Now you think Rodgers is going to save the JEST. He'll be hiding in some cave doing hallucinagens shortly.

Did you just call a life long Jet fan a front runner?

Sounds kinda good actually. I'll take it.

Updated on OTC (JeteMoron claimed it was updated before and is wrong once again). Jets will be hamstring by this for years.

The Packers already paid $40M for this season, taking the cap charge. That is why the “35 mill less guaranteed!” is a lie. It is 35M less guaranteed because that charge was already applied from Packers. Had they kept him and paid that amount (theoretically, like paying down a credit card balance), they would no longer have a 110-115M. remaining guarantee remaining but instead 75M.

Hence the Packers and Jets are both paying his contract this season.

It’s the same essential contract with Aahole having a FA option sooner. But pragmatically the same contract post 2023 Packers 40M payment: 2 yrs, 75M.

Nope. Keep trying.

Though yes GB is taking a big cap hit this year. Nothing to do with Arod taking a $35 mil pay cut though.

You guys are front runners Every year. Every april after the draft i hear from Jete fans and press is ''we're winning the super bowl''. This year its 'we got rodgers, we're winning the super bowl' then in the end when the jest suck and lose you all disappear like clockwork.

According to NFL Network, Rodgers has agreed to a two-year contract that is worth a fully-guaranteed $75 million and runs through the 2024 season. The move amounts to a nearly $35 million pay cut, as Rodgers had approximately $110 million remaining on his previous deal, the one New York inherited from the Green Bay Packers when it traded for Rodgers in April.

I'd stop listening to them if I was you.

Are you really this stupid?

The 110+ million guaranteed referenced is a fake number. It does not represent the total the Jets owed him individually. It includes the combined guaranteed money paid out by both the Packers and Jets. The Jets portion was 110+ minus what the Packers paid down (40M). 75M. Which they’re paying him over six years (lol)

Okay ice, enjoy your fantasy.

Now combine that with this.

Get it yet?

It's as if he thinks Rodgers didn't agree to all these "cuts" before the Jete gave up all that draft capital for him.

There are no actual "cuts", Rodgers agreed to get nothing more than what he was gonna get anyway.

This brings Jete Fan Delusion to an even greater degree than it's ever been.

Let’s bring this to your level.

I owe Jimmy 100 apples. Jimmy says he will stop picking apples for my apple business if I don’t pay him his apples. That’s okay because I don’t want him any more.

So I go to my neighbor, Steve. I tell Steve he can have Jimmy work for him instead but he has to help me pay my debt. He needs to pay Jimmy 70 apples. I will pay 30 but that’s all I can afford.

Jimmy takes 30 apples from me and 70 from Steve. Jimmy has 100 apples.

Jimmy then tells all his friends he’s unselfish and generous because he only took 70 apples from Steve even though he was owed 100 because he wants people to think he’s selfless (however, he didn’t tell them he got 30 from me, bringing it to the same total.)

If it helps you, you can replace apples with bananas, pears, or cherries. Whatever helps you understand the situation.

Even worse, the neighbor could have just waited a few more weeks in the winter, I would have let Jimmy go, and he could have offered Jimmy anything he wanted.

Instead he told me he wanted Jimmy so the price was set in advance and he had to send me a few workers he was going to have this season or next.

Now, Jimmy gets all the apples he was gonna get, and the neighbor is short a few workers this year and next.

Jete Cap Number for Rodgers in 2025: $51M

Jete Cap Number for Rodgers in 2026: $35M

That’s absolutely ****ing wild. I don’t know how this works with retirement. If he chooses not to retire and play in 2025, the Jets will either pay him another 37.5M or take the accelerated cap hit of 50M for all remaining void year deferrals. Lol

Unless he retires as a Jet after 2024, they’re going to be paying almost everything in 2025 for a 39/40 yr old QB who played for them in 2023/24.

Meanwhile, in Jete Land, some things never change...

Here's the reality:

Rodgers is already manipulating the media. That didn't take long. The 35M is not a pay cut but is being paid by the Packers and then used in a complicated cap narrative to make it seem like he left it on the table to help the team to win. Rodgers takes a victory lap and gets all his guaranteed money, not a penny less, p!us has free agency option in 2024 whereas he didn't before.

In reality, there's more to that $40M "pay cut" that is still in his bank account. Because the Packers are paying it, the Jets gave up a first round pick next year since they were impatient as @Bill Lee has pointed out. Rodgers was going to be cut anyway, so the team basically traded a first round pick for $40M in salary payments so they would only need to pay 75 instead of 115 over two years.

Rodgers wins, Jets lose. Get used it Jets fans. This guy has Narcissistic Personality Disorder and this is his game all day every day.
