I've only heard him once and he sounded like what you described, just kept ranting and raving. I have heard that most of his shtick is yelling at the callers. Why do people like this idiot Francesca? He just says obvious things but yells really loud and gets angry. No insight, insider info, or interesting takes. Could just change Siri’s voice to “Angry Grandpa” to read aloud #JetsSuck twitter posts and get the same experience.
Think of him as NY's Glenn Ordway or Eddie Andelman, a first generation radio sports talk guy. He's milking the limelight of his career because he's been around for decades and there's always some people who will listen to him out of sheer habit, whether he's any good or not.I don't understand that myself. I've only heard him once and he sounded like what you described, just kept ranting and raving. I have heard that most of his shtick is yelling at the callers.
I grew up in the 70s in the middle of CT with no real access to Boston media, despite my fandom of the Sox and the Pats.Eddie Andleman in his 1970s-80s Sports Huddle prime was sharp, funny, and area codes ahead of the Sewer York trash.
And that is 100% accurate.Arnold came from a more civil era. Sports talk was sports talk. Not guy talk. Not shouting. Not cutting off callers. Not self-entitlement. He was a gentleman.
Need to fall asleep quickly?...I was more of a fan of late night Steve Somers schmoozing.
Actually I did use it for that purpose! Still to this day I need to have some sort of calming human voice to go to sleep by and to get back to sleep when I wake up in the middle of the night. This is because my mom put a clock radio next to my bed when I was young (because this is how she gets to sleep), and I got accustomed to it. Unfortunately these days talk radio (both US and international) can't avoid the temptation for childish screaming and rampant sensationalism which is of course not conducive to sleep. These days I listen to various lectures or documentaries on youtube premium (ad-free) which are only of modest interest to me, and I'm asleep in a few minutes.Need to fall asleep quickly?
If someone could photoshop Gase, Adams, Darnold, Woody
I doubt the New York Giants vs. New Jersey Jete game will be on TV locally this week because both teams suck; will probably have to follow it on the Red Zone channel.@Tunescribe be sure to tune into the Jets game this week!
Exclusive: It's a Bird, It's a Plane...It's a 'Fire Adam Gase' Banner Over Manhattan
Kristian DyerNov 8, 2019
First it was ‘Fire John Idzik.’ Several years later, the target of a group of New York Jets fans is Adam Gase.
SportsIllustrated.com has learned that dozens of Jets fans have banded together to fundraise and protest the current Jets regime which includes Gase, the team’s unpopular head coach. The result of the fundraising will be a plane flying over New York City’s West Side on Friday afternoon with a banner that reads ‘Fire Adam Gase!’
Also included will be the group’s social media handle as a way to help continue mobilizing the movement. The Jets are 1-7, a disappointing record under Gase, in his first year with the team. They’ve struggled with injuries and several underwhelming seasons from stars signed this previous offseason by former general manager Mike Maccagnan, who was fired after the NFL Draft.
It has been an unusual year for the Jets to say the least. And now it is start to turn ugly not just on the field but in the stands.
EDIT - Looks like you had to be in NYC today!
Yes. Wrecks was buffoonish, Blowes was deadpan boring. But Googly Gaze appears to have perfected the art of turning morose incompetence into high comedy. The Jete should be a TV sitcom -- the goofy clueless brother-owners, the high-priced kid quarterback who keeps messing up, the google-eyed coach nobody takes seriously whose father-in-law works for the evil defensive coordinator who wants to run the team, the running back robbed blind by prostitutes, the dopey defensive tackle who sneezes and blesses himself, the legendary but drunk ex-quarterback who keeps dropping by, the angry self-flagellating fan base ... The show practically writes itself. Either that, or the Jete should permanently be on Hard Knocks.

You can't make this stuff up.
Jeers (Cheers theme song - shortened version)
Losing your way in the NFL
Takes everything you got
Throwing a pick to all your enemies
Sure does help a lot
Wouldn't you like to lose today?
Sometimes you want to go
Where everybody knows you're lame
And they're sure you'll lose the game
You want to be where you can see
The Jete fans are all the same
They want to see them find ways to lose the game
You want to go where people know
The Jete fans are all the same
They want to see them lose another football game
Big news! Jamal "Punk" Adams is back on speaking terms with his head coach and the team's GM!
Link: Jamal Adams finally on speaking terms with Joe Douglas, Adam Gase
Says Adams, “Yeah, I would love to be here. I want to bring success to this organization and I want to bring a Super Bowl to this team. That’s why I was placed here in New York ... "
Is this what he's talking about? Must be a cafeteria problem.
