Well, they had to start somebody at the position. I guess.

I am glad Eric Decker is not playing he schooled Butler last year.

Decker had like 4 catches against him in the 1st of the 1st game and Butler pretty much shut him down in the 2nd half and in the 2nd time Decker had like 40 yards

On any given Sunday. I am sure the steelers and Ravens thought they had a win against the jets,

Never under estimate an opponent.

Wow I didn't realize how bad morale was in Jets nation.

Would have rather gone against Petty....oh well, hopefully, we'll be able to get a few turnovers from Fitz!!!!

This seems like a typical "try to screw with the game planning" move - sure, the Jets START Fitz...doesn't mean he plays that much or finishes. It wouldn't surprise me at all to see Petty in this game.

What short memories people have here. I've seen Fitzpatrick have moster games against the Pats over the years. He had a fanstastic year last season. He has ALWAYS been inconsistent, but by definition, that only means that in between the bad games there are GOOD ones as well.

On any given Sunday is NOT a cliche, it's a fact! Fitzpatrick gives the Jets their best chance of winning this game. Besides it will be another "superbowl" game for a team that is going nowhere in a disappointing season. A win on Sunday MAKES their year, so we will see another very motivated team on their home field who will be very scary if the Pats allow them to stay in the game into the 2nd half.

So personally, I would have preferred the Petty experiment continue for the rest of the season.

I am with you 100%. I was just about to post something very similar, but thanks for saving me that work.

I realize thinking that teams playing the Pats consider it "their superbowl", is a good motivational tool, and sometimes it may be true. It sort of adds to the "us against the world/league" thing.

But that's just not the case here. The stadium will be more blue than green. No one gives a rat's ass about winning with Fitz. Any game. Not just vs the Pats. The fact this game is vs NE means absolutely nothing.

During a competitive season, sure... the Jet/Pat games are bigger. Not this season though.

If Petty were playing (or anyone not named Fitz), the game would be meaningful in terms of the future. Still wouldn't matter it's NE though.

If anything, considering NE's defensive issues, I was looking forward to seeing what Petty could do vs them.

But alas, Bowles is an idiot. Really hope the Pats embarrass Bowles and Fitz this Sunday. Get 'em both run out of town.

Regardless of the qb, the jets are coming after us with everything they have plus some.

We have a team more than capable of winning this game, but only if he pull together and execute.

Don't think it's possible to underrate what Decker brings to the Jets offense. It has changed big time without him. Now all teams do is gang up on Marshall, beat up on him, and zone everything else.

I expect us to go 311 the majority of the game to pick on their horrendous secondary. Wouldn't be surprised to see plenty of empty formations.
