BB is gonna let fitz score 2TD and a close game so the jets will re-sign him. Haha

This won't go like people expect. Kap had a 97 passer rating. Fitz will have a 121.

Why else you think they are doing this? They know the Pats D can be had and they can more easily salvage a win with Fitz than Petty.

By playing Fitz, the Jets are saying "Your D sucks. It's so bad we feel comfortable playing Fitz". Now, the O may outpace even the mighty Jets O, but be prepared for "are you kidding me" completing and TDs.

Such is the frustrating state of the Pats D.

Hey no one is forcing you to be a fan of this team.

and if Logan Ryan would have held on to that diving INT he almost had Kapernick's rating would have been 83

we're 2nd in points viper, the defense is fine.

We haven't beaten the jests soundly since the butt fumble game in 2012. Would be nice to win comfortably. I expect another dogfight.

Don't like differing opinions huh?

With Petty, we knew it would be a Patriots win. The only question was whether Petty would throw for 400+ yards in the loss.

With Fitz, the Patriots could lose the game.

Patriots could lose to any team any given Sunday, nothing new.

My question is: why did the Jets feel the need to announce this to the world early in the week? Would it not have been better to keep the Pats in the dark and make them prepare for both?

Looks like Bowles is toast, haahaaha , Jets in another coaching staff rebuild with an aged roster. That's gonna be funny.

I've heard (I think it was the announcers during the jets rams game but not sure) that petty is so bad that Bowles felt the team would quit on him if he named petty starter. That the difference was so pronounced in practice that they would have felt Bowles was tanking by starting petty.
That could explain announcing it publicly.... saving his lockerroom.

No no no you're wrong. Didn't you read other posters that have Jets inside sources that said Bowles made the decision cause the Patriots defense is so putrid.

That's a really depressing place to be in as a coach, I would guess - where you have to publicly announce the guy who throws 6 INTs in a game as your starter to SAVE your locker room because the guy he's replacing is actually worse...

This has to be hyperbole, right? Not the losing the game part, that can happen any given week, but the 400+ yards part. Only two teams all year have even eclipsed 300 yards passing against our defense (Seattle and Miami in week 2).

I'd rather the Pat's play Fitz-pick-trick anyway. He has lost any shred of confidence.

Let's save Petty for next years QB disposal bin. Plan ahead I say.

And that Miami game was weird because Pats defense was absolutely smothering Miami in the 1st half, think Tannenhill only had 70 yards passing and then Garoppolo got injured right before HT and then mid-way through the 3rd quarter they took a 31-3 lead and the defense backed off and miami put a couple of drives together and then it was like the defense couldn't get back in the gear they were in the 1st half. But the defense did end the game with a takeaway.
