Interesting. Nice find, Fencer.

I agree. GREAT read!! Well done, sir.

Ah some real insight instead of just parroting back the usual. I look forward to his other posts.

Jeff's been posting stuff like that for a while (I've read his stuff for several years), as far as I can tell he is legit with his sources and does hang out with "those in the know" at the Senior Bowl, Combine, etc. Now - how much of his info is given to him by teams as a headfake to others, that's impossible to know.

He posts on their message board as Icness :

One more thing about Jeff, he is really down on Pioli. If you read through his posts over the past 2-3 years you'll see little slams here and there, he clearly thinks higher of Belichick (in the front office role) than Pioli, he's also said the Patriots are secretive but not as ultra secretive since Pioli left.

This caught my attention:

"- One assistant coach of a team picking in the teens told me earlier this week that the two players they really want at their spot are players they did not bring in for official visits. On the flip side, they brought one player many suspect they are heavily interested in multiple times, but they have no intention of taking him whatsoever. I guessed one of the non-visit players off the top of my head: Mike Pouncey, who stands a very good chance to be drafted higher than his brother, who went 18th overall a year ago. Mike should send some of his signing bonus to his brother, because he is not on Maurkice's level in my opinion and would be a 2nd rounder if his twin wasn't so darn awesome last year. "

The Pats didn't bring in JJ Watt or Cam Jordan, but have had Allen Bailey in for a visit and met with him a few other times. Hmmm.....

Nice read, one of the better thought out mocks I've seen. But IMO a few reaches for OL in the 1st though. BTW, he has Brooks Reed going to the Jets in the 3rd. :scream:

I agree with many of his thoughts on the 1st round. Wow he thinks Brooks Reed falls all the way to round 3 though? I'll be surprised if that happens!

Interesting. Nawrocki also has Reed in "3A" range on his Big Board, as does NFP.

It's where most amateur draftniks would have him if he didn't have long blonde hair.

And he has the Pats taking Ingram AND DeMarco Murray in the first three rounds. . . . :bricks:

At the top of that mock :

"As the draft progresses further, I'm much more interested in slotting the player to a spot and not necessarily the team currently picking in that spot."

Not sure why he does it that way but by the third round I think he's picking value vs. team need.

I'm hoping we can get him with our 2b pick.

He's a "sexy" name right now in the eyes of draftniks (and I totally love him). He explodes off the line like a Tasmanian Devil. But he does have some flaws. He'll need to vary his pass rush moves a little better. And of course, learn the new responsibilities of the OLB position.

The Kerrigan comments aren't surprising, especially in regard to him being a 43 left end.

I'd personally have more confidence in Acho in that spot. He had more production in his two years starting than Reed had in three. Acho's average annual production was actually very close to Kerrigan's. Smart, hard worker and (obviously) not getting by on sheer athleticism (though he's no slouch).

Very true, but I think he's more explosive and a better fit in NE that the most overrated player in football.

Yes, one of the most SHOCKING things I've ever seen is the SPECTACULAR improvements, both in The Mad Croatian's Trading, and in his discernment of Talent.

Cant see BB taking Kerrigan, if he does I will be upset. He doesnt have enough explosion off the ball. He's a nice late 2nd round player IMO.
