How do we know he's any good at man coverage?

Are you really asking this? You just suggested moving him to a position he has never played before. I don't know if he's still a good player, but it makes zero sense to sign a guy to a position he has never played where we have no need.

According to OTC, it's a $7m savings, with no cap hit, and no bonus money coming in.

Tennessee Titans Salary Cap | Over the Cap

That means he's going to be looking for actual money, not just offset.
I was trying to figure out if that was the case, I have no idea if McCourty would be useful here but while its possible I dont think any of us would consider it if he was Devins twin.

Well, he's certainly going to be cheaper than Sherman. It wouldn't be financially difficult for the team to pay him a reasonable salary, and carry him as well as Butler. In theory, the team would be starting with

Butler
Gilmore
McCourty
Rowe
Last year's 2nd round abomination (he has to earn back his name at this point)

at the corners.

I honestly don't give a damn what position he plays. He's a good player and versatile athlete, so just bring him in.

I'd love to see him here. You can't have enough depth in your secondary.

How many people did we have on the secondary last year because with the safeties thats already 10 players who would seem like roster locks

Or to displace Chung in the process?

Chung is basically a SS who plays a lot of lb,since Pats are in sub( nickel, big nickel and dime) 70+% of the time. Jason Mac is a cb-has been a good one-if he were to play safety it would be fs- which Pats dont need with Dmac and Harmon.
Jason is not going to play safety. But as a 4th cb- wow, what a secondary.

He isn't good.

I thought he was still playing well? Huh, interesting.

How does he do in man coverage? I know Tennessee had played a lot of zone before where he starred (similar to his brother in that regard).
All I know is Tennessee's secondary was atrocious last season, and Jason was a part of it. So he could have only done so well.

That being said, this needs to happen. Get him here.

Did you just take him off your ignore list or are you mistaking him for someone else?

I usually clear the ignore list every 1-2 months. The joke is on me.
