Jarvis Landry??

He was bad vs HOU and better on Fri but not too much. It's preseason . Trying not to put too much stock into it.

With that said, because BB has a track record of this kind of thing, to state with 100% confidence Malcolm stays with the team thru February would be foolish.
By no means am I jumping off of a cliff with this. Preseason means very little to me. In fact, I agree with the sentiment that BB has a track record of jettisoning a key player at what may seem like a "less than ideal" time. However, it is interesting & Landry is a perfect fit in this offense. All speculation.

I also see us trading either Dion Lewis or DJ Foster Iove both but their isn't room for both on the roster.
If I know BB I see Dion Lewis being offered up for a trade on the D line.
I don't like it but it makes sense when you look at the depth.
So I see a team with heavy depth at D line in conversation to aquire Lewis.
If I'm playing matchmaker I look at Rams or Green Bay.
To move a back.

Don't see Lewis being traded at all. And Foster would go directly for another player or for a 6th (max) or 7th round pick. Maybe the Texans would part with one of their young DEs for Foster but I doubt it as they have enough RBs.

Not much value at all.

You could get a d lineman or a conditional 4th for Lewis.
More than likely a 5th

Trades that wouldn't shock me as much as they would other folks:

Lewis - if the Pats see more upside to Foster.
Coleman - if the Pats see more upside to Moore.
Brissett - if the Pats feel the need to keep an extra pass-catcher, OL or defender.

Wouldn't you rather just keep him at that point? It's nice to have depth at that passing back position.

In this scenario I'm keeping Foster over Lewis because Foster. can also play wideout and special teams and I'm betting on Foster to stay healthy and Gillesie and Burkhead to shoulder the load.

Why do you say that? He had a 1,000 yd season + 10 touchdowns in 2015. He was a promising young receiver with size (6'3"), but missed 5 games due to injury and had a down season, last year.

I definitely wouldn't label him as "horrible." He may be mediocre, but the dude has been playing with Blake Bortles. He kind of reminds me of a LaFell type, possibly more physical. It hardly matters, because I doubt he's coming here.

Wut? Are thinking about the same player?

Horrible is probably not the best word. He did struggle last year though. I do feel our offense is too tough to learn in a few weeks and it's likely BB will seek an in house solution.

Hurns is being shopped and, unlike LaFell, plays in the slot. He had a down year last year but, as you said, Bortles. So did Allen Robinson, and anyone who wouldn't take that guy in a heartbeat is crazy.

This is where this rumor falls apart for me. Landry accounted for 30% of Miami's passing yardage over the past two seasons with a catch rate of about 70%.

So, it was Landry holding back their offense the past three seasons, not mediocre QB play?

Landry's a weird player. He lights up the stat sheet and fantasy boards, but I do think he's a worse real life player than fake football player. They scheme to get him open rather than him getting open on his own like an Edelman or Amendola. He likes to run backwards after the catch. There have been times where he lost first downs trying to dance his way to more yardage.

Like look at this:

Useful about Landry. OTOH, he apparently made his dancing work a lot of the time. His YAC was 52% of his total 1136 receiving yards and he made 52 first downs on 94 receptions.

Edelman's YAC was 35% of his total 1106 receiving yards, and he made 55 first downs on 98 receptions.

It's just as possible that at least some of Landry's dancing/backtracking was done out of desperation or lack of confidence in his offense as it might have been out of lack of discipline.

I hadn't heard that JAX was shopping Hurns. Not sure why they would any more than the Fins would shop Landry (which they apparently aren't, after all).

Jacksonville have some nice skill position players especially at WR Allen R0bbinson - Marquise Lee and Allen Hurns. These guys have all put up Big numbers in this League already its quite obvious who's holding them back.

What about Phillip Dorsett from the dolts? A guy who could fit here in the slot. I don't think the dolts will be going anywhere this season.

This may be incredibly unpopular but what about Butler for Landry straight up?
Butler got beat in few coverage a few times this preseason he's in the last year of his contract we have some young dbs we like we could see a bigger role for Jonathan Jones and maybe Cyrus gets on the field more and push Eric Rowe to number 2 corner.
I don't love the idea of going against Butler but you know BB would know how to attack him.
If the option was coughing up a second or MalcomButler I think I'd rather trade Butler if we're notconsidering extending him.

No way we are parting with the Butler he will have occasional Problems with some Big WR's who uses their body well that is to their advantage. But Malcolm have proven that he's a gamer and has a knack for making plays like the one Friday night. Also Malcolm in the Slot on 3rd downs is advantage Patriots D the only D can rival that is Denver with their awesome Talent @ CB.

Horrible was a horrible word to use. He's still their WR3 and has caught 150 balls for 19 touchdowns in two seasons.

Lewis returns kicks and has proven he can play st a high level in the NFL, Foster is a binky who has proven absolutely nothing.

There will be no magic bullet coming n this season from outside at WR.

There are positions where a vet could step in and make an immediate impact, but WR is not one of them. The O requires that you understand the options and see the field the same way Brady and the OTHER Skill players read the D. That takes time and study and practice time with Brady to gain his 'trust'. There isn't time during the regular season. We will roll with players on the roster currently.

Even Lewis was once someone's unproven binky. And Foster also returns kicks.

Chris: Dion Lewis is a proven between the Tackles Runner against #1 Defenses. You seem to forgot what he did for Half a year two years ago look at his rushing and receiving stats he was a proven dual threat. Two years now removed for ACL says better days are ahead for Lewis. D.J. Foster is no Dion Lewis.
