I know the Patriots don't seem to struggle finding this skill set (Faulk, Woodhead, Vereen, even now Burkhead), so it's easy to underappreciate James White. I recall his rookie year there was skepticism about his elusiveness and upside (maybe in contrast to 2015 Dion Lewis). This guy has become a top 3rd down back.

he caught 60 balls last year, which was a healthy team year. He has like 14 already. He is huge.

James White is really good it's just as well because Dwayne Allen is really really bad as predicted.

Need all the playmakers we can get, god forbid if Gronk goes down no Marty this year to hold the fort.

Dwayne Allen is disappointing, had high hopes for him, here hoping he improves because Gronk is banged up and we really need a solid TE.

James White has glue for hands too Best hands on Team Allen should be fazed out of the Offense and give White those snaps he's just too effective to be on the Bench. White is a Playmaker and the D respects him.

Nobody is Gronk, but Allen is a reasonable facsimile as an in line blocker. They are not using him much as a receiver (and Brady missed a couple of plays he was open) but he has made important contributions. Criticism a tad harsh.

Should've paid Marty :(

I don't know why we are so quick to say our new WRs and TEs are not good enough. Consider the number of option routes the Patriots tend to use. Consider how the Patriots use the Erhardt-Perkins offensive system, while most of the league is using entirely different play calling schemes. Give Allen, Dorsett, and Cooks some time.

Lots of people HATED NE picking White in round 4, since some had projected him 6th, 7th, or UDFA. Wisconsin didn't use him much as a pass-catcher, so that helped him go somewhat unnoticed, I guess.

He's not dropping like an anchor upon contact anymore which was my gripe with him. Finally living up to the rave reviews he was getting in practice from teammates and personnel in 2015. I'm glad for him! :)

He's even doing okay as a rusher now. Great player.
