This whole line of thinking is mind boggling. I’m not even sure where this thread could possibly go.

Patsfans.com mirrors society, I guess, when you get to a point where people believe these types of things and are passionate about arguing the validity of a HoFer’s career as HC.

It’s absurd to give Brady all the accolades and not view his amazing career as it was. Many times, he pushed the team to crucial wins in the toughest of spots. Many times, his teammates and coaching staff contributed immensely to the success.

I’m so glad I was a fan during the greatest seasons this franchise has enjoyed. But this constant back n forth between the two greatest seems misguided.

The Pats maybe coulda had another Lombardi with Brady but humans are flawed and I'm thankful it lasted as long as it did.

They could have had another Lombardi or two with less interference from the Omissioner in stealing draft picks and otherwise hampering the Pats’ efforts to compete, since other teams couldn’t handle the Pats fairly.

The attempt at a perfect season was egregiously tampered with by unsubstantiated rumors from Matt Walsh and threats of congressional investigations, THE DAY BEFORE THE GAME, when the Pats already had the pressure of trying to make history.

Mac Looked great in yesterday's preseason game. 16-23 2 TD's no interceptions. It's only one preseason game (true) but
Amazing what a supportive and non backstabbing coaching staff can do to help a young QB. Joe has a real chance to develop with Pederson into a very good qb.
Maybe fences could have been mended if Bill hadn't thrown this kid under the bus so many times.
Another case of Bill's oversize ego ruining the team. Bill was a pric* with this kid and f'ed him up like he f'ed up the team.

I had advocated for keeping MAC as a backup QB for 24 and seeing how things play out in TC.
Might have allowed Pats to draft Joe Alt or Harrison or Malik Nabors. Or at a minimum been better competition for Maye than Brissett.

If somehow Lawrence goes down and Mac lights it up...it will be yet another huge black eye for "The greatest Coach of All time"
By the way..the greatest coach of all time will end up being "Andy Reid"

I am rooting for:
1. BB to never get the all time wins record
2. not be recognized as greatest head coach of all time
3. Not getting another HC job.

Certainly BB gave away Mac for too little. People may start waking up to the realization that it was the poor offensive coaching and lack of a supporting cast, which the 2024 draft went a long way to alleviate (except at LT), which caused the image of Mac being a bad QB. He’s not.

Statistically he’s the equal to the QB1 in Jacksonville.

I think it’s a great way to live your life to take the guy who delivered you 6 championships, and the greatest run in history of the sport and make it your mission to bad mouth him with any opportunity you get.
It’s funny thise people are always the ones who bragged about all the winning, as if them being a fan had something to do with it.

Mac always had a great arm. He was exceptionally accurate and could light up the scoreboard when he playing with an excellent supporting cast. If you don't believe me. watch his tape at 'Bama and his long bombs to Waddle....and that was the problem--he had no Waddle types to throw to and last year he was running for his life. The problem with Jones was he that he could not deal adverse conditions or run around to avoid pressure.

BB is the greatest coach that the Patriots ever had or will have. The problem was the personnel moves, whether by him or ownership and it is starting to look like it was ownership (and BB's blind spot for WRs).

The news out of Jacksonville was that Beathard was ahead of Jones, then Beathard got injured. And the idea that people are using a pre season game to suggest Jones is a good QB is ridiculous. The overwhelming evidence from the last two seasons is that every time Jones was in a position to win a game for the Patriots he failed. The one thing you could count on was that he would either throw an interception, or lead them off on downs any time they had a shot at winning in the 4th. I was never a Jones hater, and I gave him plenty of time to prove he could get it done at this level, but his play was so bad I had no choice but to give up on him. And the reports out of the locker room were that he was so toxic that Zappe couldn’t even watch film in the QB room. However I put some of that on Zappe, because if that report was true then Zappe should have confronted him and told him to **** off and stayed put to watch the film.
